That was definitely a rough and rowdy race! Still so much fun, and it's hard to beat these trails here in Bellingham! I got so close to hittin a couple of those trees on my run.
I'm going to do a race next year and nailed a tree on the very first mtb trail I ever rode! Good going on the race, looked exciting including the tree crash.
Dude good to run into you again! Tell you one thing, hardtail was not the way to go this round!! Haha I was hurting at the end pretty bad. Went of the trail after the rock roll though. All in all went pretty ok considering I went in blind.
@@harrygrimley4352 They started riders 30 seconds apart. I believe there was a 5 minute gap between the Sport, Expert, and Pro self-seeded groups to allow enough time to clear the course.
Harry Grimley With 30 second between starts there’s a bit of passing, yes. This trail was tricky as there aren’t a lot of good spots to get around another rider.
Have you ever entered a race before? Hit any trees along the way? Leave a comment below!
Daily MTB Rider got my first race in September. Hopefully going to stay clear of the trees
Yes and broke my front wheel on my old bike
I don't need a race to hit trees!
@@mattdeso1672 hahah
Not to outdo you, but I endoed down a rock garden in front of like 50+ people with chainsaws and stuff. At least I got a cheer
The slo-mo hecklers, "YEEEAA-Ohhhh!" was perfection! I had to watch (listen) to that 5 times. ;)
Haha you can’t beat those hecklers!
Lets send it in the EWS100 my friend!!
Deals! Nothing but sending it will happen!
Those darn trees jumping in front of people like that 🤣 Definitely a good save though
Haha they just keep popping out on me! The best part was me saying "if anyone is doing to fall, it's going to be me!" 😂
@@DailyMTBRider Yeah you definitely set yourself up for that one haha

Solid run Josh!!!
Hey just stopped by to say
I had fun on meth lab thanks for supporting those trails
That 9:48 tripped me out. Thought my laptop was gonna crash 🤣
Omg, those poor trees! Stay safe!
Gloves stayed on 👍
And that was a miracle! 😂
I am neither young, skilled or fast and I am always looking forward to see Mike's enthousiasm at mtbing.
I can relate to you Jose! I love MTB'ing - riding with these young bucks does make me better. Wish I hadn't taken a wrong turn though.
You beat me by .7 seconds, great job on the race, Nice meeting you yesterday. Good luck at the EWS.
Great to meet you too man! And I'm sure next time you'll beat me by .7!

I was able to ride the first half of the trail right before the race and went OTB. I also rode the last part of that course blind. Fun times!
Hey Josh love your videos
Thanks Jack! You're a loyal subscriber and that means a lot!
You should come to maryland the trails are awesome I am ten and race cyclocross and road
I'm dying to get to the east coast! One da yI'll make it happen!
Devils Cross is a black? Dang. I wish I participated, that looks so fun.
It’s super fun dude! Wish you were there!
Damn trees. Someone should go through and log all of them.
They totally read your letter on episode 561! Awesome! I had no idea! Anyway, great video!
Yeah they did! I’m a big fan (of the podcast and Disney 😉)
@@DailyMTBRider Knowing that you're one of the weirdos that has listened to every episode is both a blessing and a cursing :p
is it me or is Mike always posing like superman? lmao
Mike is Superman.... jokes on us 😂
You gotta do something to distract from the mediocre riding...
So the root section where you met the tree... how should that section be ridden? Great sessioning spot.
My dude you were haulin
Dang trees always get in the way when we're riding dont they know how to get out way you're in a rush geez
I'm working on a chainsaw attachment for my bike - that should fix things right up 😂
@@DailyMTBRider Oh man that would look schweet
I don’t even watch this channel but I’m early
Dude, you need to hook up with Blake samson and do some hard tail shennanigans. With capes.
Hit more trees than a Stormtrooper on Endor
Do they have an amateur division? Or first time racing catagory?
Yeah they self seed so people in the "sport" division don't have the pros coming up behind them!
@@DailyMTBRider how much time do they put between riders?

I don't need any more convincing that trees don't belong in biking...😬🌲🐿️
Nice
Time for a full face helmet.
Haha true true! I was wearing one, and you can never be too safe
100th viewer! Ayyyy
Haha you're living the dream Jesse! Thanks for watching!
Clipped a tree with your shoulder then hit one with your face
I heard that's what the pros do in the EWS - training at it's finest 😂
I wish I could ride with you or in Washington but I live in Florida and my dad has multiple sclorosis
Treehugger
I mean, that tree looked like it needed a little love!
@@DailyMTBRider you can love the trees just don't LOVE the trees
More racing, less high speed tree hugging
