Agreed! In fact I just traded in my Lariat on a 2017 KR, 601A with a nice set of options. Was motivated by the 10 speed and the new 3.5L Ecoboost. Like the two tone and how that blends nicely with the interior when entering the truck. Taking delivery next week and really looking forward to it. Great review.
2016, live in Canada, thanks to our weak dollar sales of slightly used trucks are brisk in the USA, big plus for us in terms of trades, basically cost me $6K Canadian to own the truck for a year and of course saved full taxes on the trade....excellent deal as the discounts are very strong on 2017's. The 2016 Lariat was an excellent truck.
Redd, either way great truck. I you are going 3.5EB on a 2017 its a home run with either, the new 10 speed transmission and 3.5TT engine are everything that I expected and more. Strongly recommend 3.55 rear gears and Max Towing Package. If you thinking 5.0 it's probably better to wait till the 2018 is out, should have the 10 speed transmission at that point and the 5.0 is gettting an update then...Cheers!
I was convicted to buy a 2016 King Ranch. It's my first truck and I absolutely love what Ford has done to their Trucks! All I think about is driving it everywhere. It's super comfortable, rugged, and luxurious for me. I couldn't ask for a better Truck. I'm very satisfied with my 1st truck experience.
I just bought the 2018 model of this truck and I love it. The dual pane sunroof is awesome. Love the Ecoboost engine. The auto stop/start is annoying. Love this truck!

It is easier to tell you what comes included in the 601A package because you do have the opportunity to add certain of these features to a base (600A) king Ranch. So, with the 601A you get all the time: 1. tailgate step 2. blind spot monitoring sensors 3. multi-countoured seats (massaging ) 4. inflatable rear seatbelts 5. power deployable running boards 6. auto high beams 7. 20 " wheels
May I add that as Jorge has listed those additional features included standard on the 601A is exactly why I went for it over the KR 600A, try and buy a power deploy AMP Research set of power deploy running boards after you get your truck see what that costs you vs. getting either as an option or even better as in included in the 601A option!

Nice review. I ordered my 2017 KR back in February and hopefully it will arrive next week. I went with the 5.0L as I did not want to deal with the Auto Start/Stop. If they had placed the deactivate button close to the shifter or an option to permanently disable the feature - then maybe. I also did not order the panoramic sunroof. To much glass to get broken and replace. The bonus with your video, is I ordered the Bronze Fire/Caribou & chrome package. Nice to see it up close!
What do you mean did away with SYNC? SYNC is the ability to connect your phone or bluetooth device to the system. THat will remain thru life of the truck. YOu should always have access to that
I like auto start/stop system in my 2017 Escape - it's like playing a game with the SUV (probably not saving the environment or my pocketbook much so may as well have fun) sometimes the disable button comes in handy (in parking lots/garages its a safety thing ((some engine noise)) & in heavy traffic auto start/stop can be annoying but overall good !
One hell of a nice truck I like the solid colors tho like ruby red or blue jean just wish it came with 22" wheels like the limited but yes the interior of the king ranch is the best looking interior

I'm under the impression that it is a "fuel saver", and an "environmentally friendly" feature but I think it is a waste of battery, and it starts up quickly if the heater or AC is on. So I say save the resources going in to the auxiliary battery, wiring, etc, and apply it to the engine, etc. I'll be shutting it off on my King Ranch.
I've seen many videos of king Ranch trim level , honestly it's the best looking trim . But some how I think the F super duty King Ranch much nicer than that on F150 King Ranch . I hope you get the point .

Finding one of these in good condition, with low miles and no damage, would be a real treasure! They were highly sought after in their day, making such a find even more special. The price would depending on those factors.

I love the design of the new f150s but I'll be honest im not crazy of the new King ranch models. They just don't have that wow factor to me anymore, I like the saddle leather look on the old modles.
Tyler Matthews That older King Ranch leather was much smoother and i liked the color of it too. But it was very delicate and needed much care to upkeep it. I guess a lot of folks complaint hence the new KR leather. Thanks for commenting!

Hello! And Yes! Sometime the trim levels can be so confusing and there is so much information on the packages it is sometimes hard to explain. But, the levels from basic to highest are XL, XLT. LARIAT, KING RANCH, PLATINUM AND LAST LIMITED. Now within most of these packages you have sub levels for each of them. For example the Lariat has 3. They are denoted by equipment group 500A, 501A and 502A. Basically saying there is a basic, mid level and high end Lariat. In summary: XL is the work truck, basic amenities not much bells and whistle, vinyl floors XLT is the best selling, you have cloth, power everything Lariat is leather, wood aplique, cooled seats King Ranch is specialized leather, special look like wheels and interior Platinum is higher end, upgrade leather and trim, power deployable running boards Limited has 22" wheels, top of the line interior
Very informative. I currently own the 2016 platinum and can't stop looking at the king ranch. Maybe next time I'll step into a king ranch. I do love the king ranch interior leather.
Hate the auto start stop! I have it on my BMW also and in the bmw owners manuel says it adds extra wear to the motor. I dont see why it wouldnt on the ford.

THANKS! King Ranch is a ranch here in Texas so I think that has a lot to do with why you see more K.R. trucks here than anywhere else.
I would buy the Limited. I don't care for the interior color on the King Ranch.
Still the best looking truck, especially that interior. Not sure why Ford went with orange leather for the newer King Ranch trucks.

it is not an option on F150s. You will have to install aftermarket.
