    Fair play for giving it a go, you lasted longer than I would of. Wait for the wind and go at it with that amount of enthusiasm and you will be surprised at how quickly you progress.

    I'm also starting out, in France, all my friends who are already good enough tell me not to tire of training when there is no wind, you need at least 15 knots to gain enough speed and take off and also the wing is held by the wind, it tires the shoulders less

    Nobody can foil in glassy conditions. All vehicles need some source of power. Your vehicle needs wind with supplementation with pumping to get up. You are making a brave attempt to water ski behind a ski boat that has no gasoline in the tank. You are mastering the basics of balance and wing control. All you need is the wind and you will do well.
    Another great option would be practicing with your board and foil behind a small powerboat or even a jet ski.

    Hi, I bought the same wing Aztron 5m for 200€ (sold out), to training first on the SUP board, but I noticed there is no lift to expect from that sail, because I am 90 kg, so I bought a 6.2 Ensis Score, again sold out, and of course there is a big difference. Foil I have a XXL Gong, 2200, you have 2500, so I wish you all the best and tell us …

    • @flyingfootage
      @flyingfootage  Рік тому +1

      I no longer use that Azstron wing, as you said it’s useless. I now use F-one 6m, i’m extremely happy about that wing.

      Considering buying F-One 8m .

    • @HandyCapito
      @HandyCapito Рік тому

      Before you buy the 8m sail, I want to share with you the advice of an experienced foiler. I am just an heavy, but experienced WINDSURFER and I continue to think following my experience: less wind= bigger sail.
      But I am only a beginner in Wingfoil and the expert says, a too big Wing will touch easily the water, is more difficult to move and it seems, the adequate foil (you have a 2500cm2) and a board who take off easily are more important than a bigger Wing, combined with the experience….
      But it’s very frustrating to wait for enough wind.

    You did much better than my first day on my Gong HIPE, in which I had wind but never even got standing up (it's only an 85L, though)! As the others have stated, go out again when you have some wind and it just becomes that much easier. If it's one thing I learned from practicing the wing on a landboard and now out on the water, if there's not enough wind to even fly your wing from a static position, don't even bother. Save the gas, your energy, and do something productive lol

I actually switched to a Fanatic Sky Air at about the same volume as yours, which has made a huge difference (one less thing to worry about) but am keeping my HIPE 5'1 for when/if I'm able to finally get on foil consistently and progress!

      I've been wind foiling for few years now and pretty proficient in most sea state and wind strength. I like the idea of carrying less kit about and the ease from car to sea !
