Edit: I used too much anti-seeze in this video ;) On bolts you'd better use thread-locker. As it was my first automotive video I guess it came just right. Thanks for all feedback! I'm about to prepare my both volvo's to upcoming winter. Any future videos thoughts?

@@niteblaster1 it's behind the glovebox and accessible from the passenger foot-well (left hand side foot-well). Check Google/UA-cam for more details. I did mine about a year ago, and it was fairly easy

Oglądam twoje filmy z powodów rowerowych. A tu masz VOLVO!!!! Szacun. Nie można kłaść pasty miedzianej na piastę!!! Tam są elementy aluminiowe (np felga). Zapieczenie po sezonie zimowym gwarantowane. Pozdrawiam.
Dokładnie. Smar ceramiczny jest wskazany w takich miejscach. Miedziany zdecydowanie nie.
I tried this with my V70.
I had a hard time getting the spring on the left side. The package I received had a spring that was smaller than the original. I put the original back on. To get it on, I put the bottom on first. Then I used a long screwdriver, used the hub for leverage, then lifted the top hook into the hole. It didn't go all the way in. I put the screwdriver into the first rung on the spring and leveraged it up slightly higher. I used a second screwdriver to push it all the way into the hole.
I couldn't get the rotor to go back on. The new pads were thicker than the old and the rotor didn't fit on. I was hot and sweaty so I put the old pads back on until I can figure it out.

I see you removed the caliper assembly in one go, instead of taking it apart. As I need to do just the parking brake, that saves time and fiddling. Thanks for showing that and the whole job. Nicely done.
A shot of the chemicals you used could be useful, and as already noted, locktight on the bolts is advised.
I feel happier about attempting this after seeing your video.
Saves time right there, but I would take it apart and clean while you are there.

Did this a few months ago, that damn spring in the back lol. Only problem I have with mine is it doesn't really hold good going forward, but backwards it does fantastic. Still trying to figure it out.
I have the same problem. Did you figure out a fix for the parking brake holding going forward? Trying to tackle it tomorrow.
@@craigearley7294 I have not yet. Haven't driven it much and the last time it seem like it held. I'll more then likely just get the oem and get the adjuster. They do have an aftermarket adjustment wheel online somewhere.

A simple overlay with the text you try to show to the camera would have been good.
You could change the brake caliper rubbers at the same time, you don't need to lubricate those parts, as long as you clean them

Nigdy nie smaruj piasty auta, na wejsc na czysto - kazda pasta to micrometry itd- wyczysc i wrzuc na sucho :) dobra robota
You shouldn´t use anti-seeze on the caliper-bolts. The red stuff on them is tread-lock and it shouldn´t be lubricated

I did it in 3 hrs :D xc90 but watching video after work :P full brakes change.

Thanks Mate, great video. I'm about to R&R the rear delta wing axle on my C70 it was damaged in an accident. This was my only concern since I brutalized the donor from the junk yard!

W pn raz jeszcze wszysko na spokojnie rozbiore i zobaczę.
Ale mam gorszy problem z abs...
sprawdzilbym na zdjętym tarczo-bębnie czy to podnosi się i opuszcza rowno z obu stron. Wskazane byloby też sprobować poluzować trochę dzwignie w kabinie - tak dla próby - i popracować trochę linką - wyciągnąć przy kole z całym mechanizmem maksymalnie, psiknąć smarem i ściągnąć dzwignią z kabiny. Inna sprawa to upewnić się, że to rzeczywiście szczeki o bęben trą. Może tak jak przy moich dwóch volvach zapiekly Ci się tłoczki. W moim przypadku notoryczny problem to zapieczone tłoczki z tyłu od strony auta.. Co z tym ABSem?
