Thank you for the tutorials. I have a question, is there an option to sort by the column number? Let’s say for example, I want to sort the file based on the values in column 15. Is there an option in notepad++ to do that?
Hi Vasu, yes, you can sort it by a specific column. You will need to use TextFX plugin. It is a bit tricky at first, you will need to select the column that you would like to "sort by" using ALT key. And then TextFX >> TextFX Tools >> Sort lines case sensitive (at column) I will create a video this week/next week demonstrating this feature, since it can be very useful. But, meanwhile you can try on your own. Thanks for the feedback.
@@AmitChristian Hi Amit. Thank you for your reply. I work on a lot of “fixed length” flat files. It’s so hard to export to Excel versus a CSV file which is pretty straightforward. I tried searching through the plug-in admin in npp but I couldn’t find this TestFX plugin.

Hello Naraindath, sorry for late reply. If I understand your question correctly, when you press space, if a faint space appears, then you have a "Show All Characters" turned on. This shows all the hidden characters. You need to turn off this option. You can go to View >> Show Symbol >> Show All Characters and uncheck that.
