I am new to the wig world, I am 72 just got done doing all my chemo and radiation. So far I'm free of cancer. Yay! I love all of your wigs I can't wait to get started. Pixies are my "go to" look as soon as the weather gets warmer (by Spring)! I'm loving my "Ready for Takeoff" in Shaded Biscuit and I find I get the most compliments when I wear her. I have a few others that I wear on the weekends when I'm not seeing clients (I don't want my hair to become a topic of discussion in-session)! Thank you for doing this type of review Taz. What a great new crop of pixies!! Being just 5' tall, they give me an 'elfyn' look but that's ok. Love my old standards from years past: Perry and Jett from Estetica, Sky from Ellen Willie, little, spiky Billie in that cool pink shade by Noriko. Yesterday I was searching for the best pixie for me. How timely is your video! I had watched your other pixie videos and am interested in the Belle Tress Cafe Martini. Does the Champagne With Apple Pie have a dark root?. My bio hair has always been very light, and although I like the realist look of rooted styles, the roots are always just too dark for me. Thanks for another informative video.
Hi Nancy! Thanks for the comments! The root on my Energia in Champagne With Apple Pie piece is med-light warm brown.. I have seen many variations of rooting on this color.. from light ash to medium warm. Thank you for watching! XOXO
You can always add your own "root" with furniture markers. I just do around the part, the crown, and only an inch or so but you can color as much as you like. Don't use magic markers - they can turn strange colors on synthetic fabric.

My favorite is Millie by Noriko. I'm in my 60's so I don't care for the rocker chic back, but because it runs small and rides up the length in back gives me some extra to work with when recutting it. I was disappointed when they came out with Billie and it went too short for me. I'm not a petite woman so it was not flattering being so short in the back. But the layering and especially the bangs are really nice.

Hi Taz. I am helping a friend to buy some pixie style wigs, and while I have learned a lot in the past four years, I never paid attention to pixie cuts because I like more length. One question I have is what do you do with your bio hair at the nape if it is not long enough to make a pony tail or clip it up but you also don’t want it peeking out. I heard you mention shaving yours. Is this the only solution? She is in her 80’s and I don’t think she would be able to shave the back of her hair. 🥰
Hi Eileen! I used to twist the hair at the nape, flip it up towards the crown and clip it:-) Other ladies have used styling paste or products to hold the hair up, but its too messy. She could use a nylon wig liner cap underneath and situate all the hair inside the liner before applying the wig. Hope this helps! Blessings XOXO

I just found your channel, and I’m so glad I did. I am new to wigs. I have a couple of Toni Brattin, but would like a little nicer wig. I’m 64 and have fine, thin hair due to hereditary and hypothyroidism. What would you recommend as a nice, but not too expensive, wig for the hot and humid southern summer?
I recommend short, open cap wig styles.. they seem to be the coolest. Any of these wigs featured in this video will be appropriate.. the Raquel Welch Ready for Takeoff is pricey and a bit warmer than the rest since its handtied. XOXO

I’m really leaning towards Ready for Takeoff but I hesitate a bit because I too am petite/average like you are. Do you have to make a lot of adjustments and wear wig grips to keep it on ?
I do not wear anything beneath my wigs to help secure it.. On 90% of styles, I get a secure fit by adjusting the built in adjusters in the cap. XOXO

Not unless a big wind kicks up.. but that can happen with longer styles as well:-) XOXO
Is it possible to wear Belletress pixies close to the head? I like then laying really flat 🙂😊
Belle tress styles have limited permatease which should allow you to wear them pressed down to the head for a lower profile. I wish Belle Tress offered more pixies.. so many are discontinued.
Love the Raquel Welch but I just received the Jon Renau Ignite in the Palm Springs Blonde and I ADORE this wig! However, I have an odd shaped head as my circumference is a 22.5 and the rest of my measurements are petite to average! I'm such a weirdo! LOL But I did see a video by Godiva's Secret wigs on how to enlarge the circumference. I paid nearly $200.00 for Ignite and I certainly don't want to lose that money but I don't want to lose my new wig either! What would you do in this situation, Taz?
Thanks for sharing!! It's unfortunate when your measurements fall outside of the norm.. I am more petite circumference, but average everywhere else.. so I get good results from 90% of the wigs I buy. I have not had to enlarge a cap, so I am not a good one to advise. If you are outside of your window or cannot return the wig, you might want to try some "non-surgical" methods first.. You might try unhooking the adjusters, then soak the wig in cool water for an hour or so.. then stretch over a styrofoam head to dry.. this may help enlarge the cap. Also if you can tolerate wearing it all day.. .this will help stretch it out as well. I hope you can figure this out! It's a gorgeous style! XOXO

Are the wigs hot to wear? I love them but just worried if they make you hot.
Wigs can add a layer to the head which may cause heat to build.. just like a hat or anything else you may wear on the head:-) XOXO
Would be interested in hearing from people if they would wear a pixie with a less-than-perfect jawline. You know, sagging some.
I think wearing a pixie with some longer fringe around the face will soften and play down the sagging:-) XOXO
