Just got my wife's uncle's 85 xl600r. Had sat since 1990, 29yrs and with a carb clean, new spark plug and gas it fired right up. Looks exactly like yours even with the supertrapp exhaust! Just need a few more things and I too will be out there with ya!
Can’t wait till I have the 87’ XL 600 I’ve been wanting. You can’t beat a big thumper, I gave up on mixing gas and oil, I traded that for turn signals. No more loading and unloading, throw the garage door up and go like the wind.
I have the same bike a 85 and the only thing I don't like about the bike, is the issue if one drops it, it floods very easily and is a bitch to restart if flooded, other then that it's a great bike.
