I want to make clear that although I did include her performance of this song in Glee in this compilation, I want to say that I do NOT and will NOT ever support the actions of Lea Michele, and I think that the behavior she exhibited towards other co-stars in Glee and in other works was completely unacceptable.

I love Lillias and Naya’s versions of this song, and of course I will always love Barbra because she’s the original. But Julie Benko was BORN to play Fanny Brice and I will die on this hill.

I think they realised that it was really hard for the actresses to sing DROMP 8 shows a week, so they shortened the ending. I also heard that towards the end of Barbra’s run, she would do this version on matinees.

And let's be clear: Lea Michele is not original, imo. She is a trying to be a Barbra copy. All of the rest put their own spin, and none do that desperate scooping thing that Lea does. It always sounds like she's in some sort of pain.

You can critique her performance without being full on insulting even if Lea is a bad person this isn’t about her as a person it’s about her performance, it’s not what you say it’s how you say

you're saying that because that's the Glee Version where literally she's trying to be like Barbra, now did u see her on Broadway? if you think she's still copying Barbra then idk. And pls let's not pretend everyone is not copying at least a few thing to Barbra, she was the original Fanny, the role was for her so it's pretty obvious everyone will 'copy' her
