  • Join us in this exciting behind-the-scenes adventure as we team up to tackle a crucial home improvement project! In collaboration with the renowned UA-camr, Keith from ‪@RagnBoneBrown‬ , we took on the challenge of building a brand new soakaway for his rainwater runoff issues.
    With limited access, we used a JCB micro digger to excavate a sizeable hole for the soakaway crates. The process involved careful pipework installation, stabilizing the dig with metal ramps and structural ply, and layering the soakaway crates with pea shingle and geotextile fabric. Keith's main video provides an in-depth look at the project, while our video offers a unique perspective on the teamwork and DIY approach that went into making it happen.

    What a great day it was (easy to say that now that the aches and pains have subsided!). It was another two days before I could finish off the trench and guttering 🤣 thanks again so much, you're a legend. And just let me know when you need a helping hand (need any gravel moving?) ❤

    Well done! An unexpected collab, but a welcome one. Luckily the ground looked like fairly easy to dig; we found our soakaway dig was a concrete-like mixture of hard clay and rock.

      Yeah I was surprised it was all pretty much sand, round my way it's all clay and massive lumps of flint which is an absolute b*tch

    We had to do a new soak away for our extension, 4m out 2m deep but thankfully were able to get a bigger digger in, was still a lot of effort and money for something we will never see again.

    It was Keith’s recommendation that got me watching your videos so great to see a collaboration between the two of you. Also highlighted a point I hadn’t looked at in the regs which means I can not do my soak away and now have to rethink the whole thing 😢 cursing the previous works done on my house even more now.

      @@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT drainage from a slopping drive currently running to the house with no means of getting rid of it. Storm water drain is at the rear with no easy access. Was planning a soak away but to get the distance from the house will be next to a public footpath and fairly busy road. So looks like I may have to look at a French drain but not sure I’ll have the fall to the rear. The cowboys that did previous work got rid of the drain that was originally in place and left the gutter emptying on the front of the house. Sort that but the drive run off needs something.

    The fact that you removed the roll bar , then continued to operate the machine without re-attaching it is beyond belief. Also after accessing where you need to be why did you not operate the machine correctly and widen the track base. Obviously because no one had explained to you how to do it. Great job in what you have done , but it is just the way you have operated the machine what I found annoying. 🚜🚜🚜

      @THE-AIDEN-PROJECT  10 місяців тому +5

      Hey Jamie, thanks for the feedback and your concern 👍 it was a calculated risk, I didn't extend the tracks cause I was on stable ground. I've operated lots of diggers up to 5 tonnes on my build so I've got a good grasp of the capabilities and any stability issues so I knew I was safe
