    Yarra Trams
    Hello All,
Today I have a video from Kew Depots 100th Year Anniversary.
Kew Depot was opened in 1915 and 100 years on, still lives today.
Now running on routes 48 and 109, it has two rolling stock based at this Depot, the Comeng A Class trams and the Full Citadis Fleet ( Alstom C Class)
On this day 4 trams made there special appearances at Kew depot. W8 946, E 5006 and Restaurant Tram 6 (SW6 935), all borrowed from Southbank Depot for the commemoration. there was also an extra special tram which made its appearance, a W1 class from Hawthorn Depot which is apart of the heritage fleet.

I've heard Manchester has become the best city to live in in the UK. And her's some trivia for you: Melbourne has the worlds largest tram network. It stretches out all over the metro area. Melbourne is the third largest city in area in the southern hemisphere behind Durban and some Sth American city which I can't remember so the tram network here is enormous. Melbourne also has the largest metro train network in the southern hemisphere. You should come and visit!

Hey does anyone know what happened to the old Cable Tram depot on Bridge rd Richmond corner of River Street? I remember as kids around 1982 we went inside for a look and there was a few old green trams being stored in there.

After doing a bit of research, looks like the former depot was turned into a hotel, however the outer façade is still visible. Although saying that, the depot was closed back in 1927 and the hotel was built during the 1980s.

@@Comeng998 Oh 1927 yeah because the Cable trams stopped running and electric trams took over. Amazing that that depot stayed empty and intact from 1927 to at least 1983. The hotel must have been built after 1985 because I remember bumping into my ex-girlfriend outside Dick Smith around mid 85 and the building was untouched. Obviously they must have transfered the old trams that were storedin there to the Hawthorn depot at Riversdale & Power sts. Interestingly Melbourne has the largest tram network in the world.
