Hello All,
Welcome to Comeng998's coverage of the Ruby Jubilee Tour, which commemorated 40 years of the Z1/2 Class Trams.
With only 16 (date of filming) Z1's in service, this was a real opportunity to ride two of the remaining on lines which would have farewelled these trams years ago.
In this part we ride the tram from Malvern Depot to Brunswick depot where there hasn't been a Z1/2 since 2013.
Thanks to all the organizers for running this tour, as well as Yarra trams.

I Work at Comeng in 1975-6 as an electrician when I first came to Australia. I worked on Tram 2-13 and then moved on. I remember with the first few we had to draw in nearly twice as many cables between the two controls cabinets than were originally planned for. We had a lot of probs with the early ones, even having to put a key switch on the outside to open the automatic doors after they had closed with no one inside to do the job. Oh happy days
