@@SILVERZ129 I'd recommend trying out all the weapons and not sticking to just one. The game is more fun that way. Also don't hesitate to bring defensive skills if a monster is giving you trouble.

If only it were that easy... I fought it enough to craft the entire armor set + weapon and upgrade it with only the failed quest rewards... I stacked as much elemental damage as I could and attacked more relentlessly than ever... I never beat it once...

@@sazechs_451 i recommend not using a dragon weapon. As much as dragon does affect alatreon, alatreon isnt weak to it in the slightest. You barely get more dragon damage out in dragon phase but thats it. I'd recommend using an ice or fire weapon.
@@sazechs_451 I’d recommend using an ice weapon with high element damage and AMPING that you as much as you can, makes it a hell of a lot easier, due to dragon element doing not much to the fire element or ice element of alatreon, whereas in the special assignment for alatreon they’ll mainly be fire so your ice weapon gets huge value for element damage for his nuke ability

I never paid attention to builds and just got the skills that seemed the best to me (wex,crit b,attack b lvl 4,crit eye, agi 7) and these are the skills everyone uses in builds (for most weapons) because they are clearly the best.

@@JayTDemi write down the bloat values and divide the damage by it. You’ll see whether or not your damage is up to par by comparing raw base damage and raw elemental damage stats
@@whitejester wait, so if you divide a weapons damage by their wep category multiplier you could compare something like dual blades and great sword directly?

Found this channel long before I even reached Alatreon, and I put off doing him for the longest time due to how infamous he is. After finally experiencing him myself, these videos give me much more enjoyment and satisfaction, knowing just how friggin good it is to get those topples and horn breaks.

@@Preferforks lol 😂 I got the alateron set in 4 days and fatalis going from 8 days still 3 pieces left, fatalis one shots you with any hit almost, alateron is a lot easier to manage.

Ever heard of the punishing draw KO LS build? It's my main now
It's actually scaled so hammer deals more element to suppress escaton than longsword does. Longsword is still likely better because it hits just so much but the gap is smaller than it seems. Also dragon is super bad at suppressing it in all stages including the dragon phase so don't use that.

Fastest run was 4 minutes and 8 seconds (not solo im still getting used to mhw after a year of not playing) these crazy ass people came in 2 mins in and the moment they got there boom horns broken. 2 mins after it dropped dead.
I've had that happen. On my second attempt fighting it, 3 randos joined and dear lord it was a massacre. Dragon never stood a chance..
I'm so jealous... No one answered my fuses and in the end I just gave up after who knows how many tries.
Good point though : I didn't need to kill it to get full armor and weapon + upgrade. The dropped materials I got were enough.

As someone who quit World, I love your videos. You're obviously good at the game, but you highlight your fuck ups and even show when you're cheap shotted by monsters. I feel like speedrun culture got idolized by too many players and made multiplayer unbearable.

@@lucasthiessen5527 No problem! I recommend affinity and sharpness skills for longsword. Weakness Exploit, critical boost, critical eye, agitator. protective polish or handicraft.
Just Some Memes ok I’ll see what I can build with what I have, the rarer decoration is something I’m short on, I was dumb and sold my first lv4 critical eye decoration on accident. So I learn not to sell decoration after that
Question, just rewatched this video for like the fifth time and just noticed how high your element was?? Not sure if it's just a longsword thing (I use IG) but I'm really stuck with Alatreon and I'm wondering if it's cause my element is too low (I usually have 240-390)
My element is high because its an Alatreon set skill. Try maxing out the element skill for the element you're using, and maybe try using critical element skill, like Velkhana or Silver Rathalos armor set skill
I beat Alatreon with 600 ice, critical element and coalescence 2. Hope this helps.
I used full safi with kjaar switch axe
1400 ice in sword mode

Trust me it is a lot easier then you think it is. First off dont use dragon. Even if JSM used dragon thats because he was using alatreon armor plus a crap load of elemental resistance to boost his dragon to over 1000. Use ice or fire. I'd recommend ice because there arent many good fire weapons aside from kjarr weapons. Also slot in evade window 5 if you can. It really does help a lot if you always dodge to early. Also if you have 200 max health and you get one elemental knockout, use you astera jerky/ max potion before you hut half health. If you get two elemental knock outs before a judgement, you dont even need to heal if you have 200 max hp.
Use a good ice weapon for the special assignment, Frostfang Barioth, Safi Frost, or Kjarr Ice are all great options. Slot Evade Window 5, because his hitboxes are already tight af, and the Evade Window makes the fight trivial. From there, Health Boost and then your damage skills.

I crafted 3 alatreon gear and the long sword but I've only killed him once
Only carved/was rewarded 1 dragonsphire after 5 alatreons, still managed to craft 3 armor pieces, dual blades, and light bowgun because celestial wyvernprints op.
