    when you're paying this much for a printer they really should give you full ink tanks. it can't cost them that much

    I have the p800. Sucks they made ink smaller on the 900. But the roll unit on the 900 looks way better . Awesome it had purple . I wish the 800 had purple.

    Wow, one of the lucky few able to get this printer. Covid has caused this printer to be 3x the cost for the few stores who have this printer in stock. I'm convinced Epson only sends out a few so they sell out quickly and can demand that high after market price tag. I saw a old Epson r2880 going for $800.00 and a Epson p400 for $1,200.00 yikes!

    The ink has 68ml in them, the reason why you see 20-30% left in them at first load is because it feeds the internal tanks of the printer. :)

    Hi, can I use thick paper like Inkjet double sided matte coated paper for postals 300gm with the epson SC P900 ? thank you

    • @Redrivercatalog
      @Redrivercatalog  Рік тому

      The P900 is a great printer in general. The down side is that the paper feed system is weak. For heavy and thick papers, we recommend using the front paper path, which is designed for thick media. Note that the smallest size it will accept is 8x10. If you want to do post cards, you would want to print more than one to a sheet on an 8.5x11 or A4.

    Nice video guys, you have mentioned that P900 can print 17"x25" paper but as per EPSON it does borderless prints up to 17 x 22" in size?

    • @Redrivercatalog
      @Redrivercatalog  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Red Shift - There are a few parts to the answer. The driver has a number of sizes that are allowed for borderless printing. 17x22 is included in that list. Also, you have the ability to print some CUSTOM sizes without borders. Epson limits the widths available for this feature but the length is truly user defined. So, using this feature you can define 17x25 as a custom size and print it without borders or with borders. As you probably know, 17x25 is designed so you can print a full 16x24 image (uncropped full frame image). Hope this helps. You can reply back here or email support@redriverpaper.com with any questions.

    • @Redrivercatalog
      @Redrivercatalog  3 роки тому +1

      I forgot about the OS part of my answer. In the Windows environment, the available custom borderless sizes are explicitly shown via the interface. In OSX, you have to know the capabilities ahead of time and set it up properly. This is where our software guide comes in handy. We are way behind on the project, but the P900 guide will be posted in the next few days.

    Thanks for the unboxing. When will you be doing the setup video? How much ink is left from initial cartridges once setup is complete?

    • @Redrivercatalog
      @Redrivercatalog  3 роки тому

      Recording the setup this week. The cartridges show about 1/4 full when the initialization was complete.

      @@Redrivercatalog Thanks for the reply on the ink it is helpful in trying to make a decision between the P700 and P900. I just wish the printer manufacturers would give us full tanks when we purchase it must cost more to have 2 different sets of cartridges.

    • @AnOpticalView
      @AnOpticalView 3 роки тому +1

      @@chriselliott4400 Since it is now commonly reported that the P700 very quickly needs a second set of cartridges after set-up this makes the P900 actually cheaper. Larger yes but also ability to print to A2+

    • @chriselliott4400
      @chriselliott4400 3 роки тому

      Ian Douglas You might think so but it depends on the price differential and the amount of printing you do. In the UK the price difference between 700 and 900 is almost £400 and that pays for a lot of ink. I calculated that we would probably print for 3 years before the 900 became more cost effective and this time would be extended because colours are used quicker than others. Also with COVID we are printing less than normal. Can’t see why the cost difference between 700 and 900 as the majority of the costly parts are identical.
      Anyway I bought a P700 and managed to print a nozzle check before it broke with an ink leak. Currently repackaged awaiting pickup for return to vendor for refund.

    17" x 22" print is WRONG! This printer can print whatever size you want. It is an A2+ printer. Epson America is not able to communicate this to sellers and customers in the U-S- region (go figure....)

    • @Redrivercatalog
      @Redrivercatalog  3 роки тому +1

      You are right! It will print up to 17" wide and can do long banners.
      It will take custom sizes like our 17" x 25"
      www.redrivercatalog.com/browse/17x25-photo-paper-for-inkjet-printers.html
      And 13" x 38" for Pano:

      @@Redrivercatalog "17x25 Photo and Art Papers
      . EXCLUSIVE Red River Paper Size!" Sorry, but that is not correct. 17x25 papers are made by other manufacturers as well. However, you understand the point of the A2+ papers. It facilitates the full frame, 2 x 3 ratio, printing. A2+ will slowly replace A2 papers for that reason. A2+ is sooooo more useful, and does not cost that much more to produce. Too bad Epson is unaware of this and fail to inform about this on their US / America home-page. I am picking up my P900 today. Really excited :-D (I live in Norway)
