A piece of this I haven't seen mentioned yet is that the two "parts" of the song represent the siblings. This is the song that plays when both are alive and attacking you (which is why it's titled Rage and Scream). Depending on which you shoot down first, the soundtrack will transition into either "Mimic - Rage" or "Mimic - Scream" which either has the guitar parts simplified and the drum line even more discordant or vice-versa to represent the missing sibling and the frenzy of the remaining one.
The Ace Combat Series has other great soundtracks like Emancipation from Shattered Skies which has some good drum work. More good songs from Shattered Skies would be Farbanti,Aquila, and Megalith-Angus dei and its opener Rex Tremendae. From Ace Combat 5 you have the titular song The Unsung War,and Hrimfaxi and Wardog and the Hanger 1(Hanger 1 goes really heavy on the drums) which are also really good songs.
Rage and Scream have one of the best themes in entire series. They are chaotic, misleading and in tandem at the same time, the music capture the fights dynamic perfectly. Rage and Scream use fake signals to distract your targeting and the use extreme evasive maneuverers to throw you off, just like the music its an ever shifting dynamic. They even get the nickname 'Bats' thanks to their emblem, but you can easily infer 'Bats' as 'Batsh*t Insane'. Their fight came out of the blue with no real hint aside from a music queue and they use planes with a very unconventional design that breaks the norm. The characters design of Rage and Scream look very punk and counter culture as their hair styles and radio etiquette is definitely not to military standard. If hard to explain but once you play it with the music it makes their fight one of the best across the series.
Some other Ace Combat songs you might like is from the Ace Combat 2 soundtrack, things like 'warning line' and 'fire youngman' would probably be right up your alley.

Mimic is Rage and Scream's "team name". Rage and Scream are the pilots (who are also siblings!) that fly under Mimic Squadron. :)
Ah I see, thanks for the context Nick!

I highly recommend Liberation of Gracemeria Metal Remix. It's not from the offical Ace Combat ost but it's a great rendition and just works so well.
