- This is footage that I captured from the cams that I never uploaded. This is my favorite stage of the eaglets when they are sporting their dandelion hairdo and clunky clown feet. They were about 4 weeks old in this video.
E25 Passed away the evening of January 26th after showing signs of distress including difficulty breathing and loss of balance. The eaglet eventually had some seizures, collapsed and stopped breathing. The next morning CROW, Clinic for the rehabilitation of wildlife, came and retrieved the remains from the nest. About 2:45 am, the early morning of January 28, E25 begin seizing and eventually fell off the nest and passed away. E25 begin showing the same signs as E24 did sometime after midnight. CROW returned to the nest before dawn the next morning to retrieve E25. Both eaglets tested positive for HPAI (Highly pathogenic Avian Influenza) Bird Flu. We are hoping and praying that M15 & F23 have not been affected. CROW held a press conference today at the nest. It is available on UA-cam and very informative. Many thanks to CROW for the work that they do to save wildlife.

Highly pathogenic. Or very contagious! I worry for the parents. So far they are looking well. We can hope.

Just another reminder of how precious life is and to never take these beautiful moments for granted. Such sweet eaglets, your lives may have been short but memories last a lifetime.
