i have been studying in matric for a whole year and tomorrow is my final practical of computer. i have been seeing this program in my computer textbook for a whole year now but never really understood . your lecture really helped :) . love from pakistan.
All you have to do to test whether a number is prime or not is to divide it successively by all numbers from 2 to n/2, not n. If remainder of any of these divisions is zero, the number is not a prime. If none of the remainders results in 0, it’s a prime number.
What about 9 & 15, 9/2 doesn't give 0 as remainder. It means it is a *Prime number* according to you, but it's not 😊 Same for 15/2 doesn't give 0 as remainder,So it will be a Prime Number.. but it is also not a Prime number Hope you understood what I said 😊
@@pranjalsingh4586 While 9 and 15 don't have a remainder of zero when divided by 2, they do have a remainder of zero when divided by other numbers within the range of 2 to n/2, which makes them non-prime. As mentioned, my method requires checking divisions with all numbers in this range, not just 2. Hope you understand my statement now. 😊
