How to make QALAM from bamboo stick and use it for Calligraphy

Qalam (INK PEN) is the most important tool for Calligraphy especially Arabic Calligraphy. In this video we have shown how to make Qalam from bamboo stick and then use is for Calligraphy. There are various types of strokes and sizes for which separate Qalams are used.

🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳I used it 25 years ago for around 3 years (in class 4th, 5th & 6th). There was two type of wood material for 'kalam' that we used, first one was called 'narkul' or 'narkat' and second one 'musk-bed' in Hindi. Beautiful work! I have created a similar pen for my cartoon illustration. I have access to a field full of Bamboo on my property and an endless resource. This is so much better than some plastic nonsense and an over priced plastic (most of today's fancy pens just use fancy words for describing what is basically a plastic body) fountain pen.
