I think at the end of the day she respects the fact that he didn't put her through more grief by lying. Plus he wouldn't have killed her if Rae didn't set it up. he is even honest about the fact that after Rae refused to take responsibility he should've killed him instead, not her. They even said if he didn't confess they really wouldn't have had a strong case because no one else would place him at the scene As big as he was and enjoying that meal when he saw him on tv saying whoever did it should've got the death penalty he could've kept quiet and went on the hunt to kill Rae. but he lost his appetite and confessed.
Oh and Rae is a real killer to because he was the mastermind and she wouldve been able to drive off had he not played a part in blocking her in and how he wanted it done, the shooter wasn't after him and he knew it too. But he's only 18, so what happens when his amazing cheerleader, Ms. Adams, is gone? What Rae Carruth planned in months or hours is pain that will last for so many, many years. There's no coming back from that.

The man that had her daughter murdered, there is no response about his actions, blood is not always thicker than water. The man who had the pregnant young woman murdered had no concern for her or the baby she was carrying. 19years in prison has that changed him? Would he finish what he started if he had contact with the child that survived, get tired of caring for him, should his grandmother not survive? I listen to this interview and hear no remorse, not from someone who plotted to take her child and grandchild away from her. You also ruined this woman’s life too.
