    Did you just broadcast the wheat into your established clover?

    Use awnless winter wheat, deer prefer the awnless variety of wheat.

    How much wheat do you plant? You mentioned 50 lbs. Is this what you would recommend per acre?

    I know this video is a couple of years old, but it's great info. We're going to plant clover this year for the first time, so I'm currently down the YT rabbit hole trying to learn as much as I can. Thanks for posting it.

    Steve, When did you broadcast the winter wheat? August, September?

    • @allaboutdeer6975

      Either of this would work. I just look at the forecast. Since your broadcasting on top of the soil you’ll want good steady rain for a period of time to get the best germination.

      @@allaboutdeer6975 so my clover plot is lush. I should just get on 100lbs of winter rye grain over the top before a good rain and it will reach the soil ???

    Will Oats work instead of Winter Wheat? Or a mixture of Oats, Cereal Rye and Winter Wheat?

    • @aotec89
      @aotec89 2 роки тому

      You can mix the 3 however oats will not make it through the winter. Oats will be eaten for a month until first freeze. The rye and wheat will come up with the clover in early next spring
