Thanks! Just got back from my second assignment of the day. It's been a haul the last few days. People on vacation or out sick. I'll be happy when it's just sports at night. Happy New Year.
I've been watching just long enough to remember many of these shots from the first time around. Lovely! Kirk, you have a wonderful artistic eye and a unique creative style. Please keep making videos.
I was going to purchase that lens however I already have an 18-135 and was looking at a light, smaller lens so was loaned the 18-55 and the 16-80. I really liked both but kept thinking would I really take out the 16-80 if I could take out the 18-135 which is the same size and almost the same weight but more reach? It was a dilemma but eventually bought the 18-55 as a light lens and a pancake for the x-t30. Part of me still would like the 16-80 but I have that focal length covered! Really liking these shots
I would like to thank Fuji for putting out the new version 23mm f1.4 WR as it caused the used prices of the original 23mm 1.4R to drop significantly. And lo and behold I have now bought one. Cant wait to "ops check" it next week when it arrives.
Hey Kirk, as you have started your career as a film photographer and now using digital cameras, it would be great if you could make a video about your career - what are your insights, what have you learned as you transitioned from a film photographer to a digital camera photographer. We could learn so much and not make the same mistakes! Does it make any sense to use film cameras any more as film is expensive? Please consider this! Thank you very much!
I’ve been thinking of doing that. Thanks for reminding me it might be a good idea. I just have to figure out how to make it so that the YT algorithm likes it.
Not a bad shot in the bunch. Following you all year, I remember many of these images from earlier posts with the stories behind them, but it's nice to see the compendium of the year's best work. Just me, but my favorite two, based on my love of shadow and silhouette play are the images at: 3:05 and 8:05.
Interesting you mentioned the soft images from the XT5 ibis. I have noticed quite consistently using the 16-55 2.8 on my XT5 that I am constantly getting a couple pictures here and there that the entire image is soft for no good reason as I was shooting at 1/500 or higher. I am starting to think its something to do with IBIS since I don't get blurry pics with the 16-55 on my xpro3 or xs10
wow love it great fotos and a great man behind the camera

Many thanks Erik! Sorry there were so many from videos. I need to get out more and shoot for myself.
Lovely photos. Thank you for sharing with us. Are your Fuji images all edited raw files in Lightroom?
Yes all the raws are in LR. There are some jpgs that are toned in PS. The black and whites are done in Silver Efex Pro 2.
Gorgeous photos Kirk! Thanks so much for sharing not only the photos, but the equipment you used to get them. Happy New Year!
Thanks Jennie! Happy New Year hope to see you this summer.
Great photos with the 16-80mm f/4 lens! This is a kit lens that was sold with the X-T4 camera.
I love mine and use it every day.

I'm glad for the used price drop as well. Bought mine recently. Happy as hell I did it.
I have one too and it's great 😀

Dan - I have not seen any issues with the camera at shutter speeds below 1/3000s only way up high at the limit of the mechanical shutter.
is there 2 types of 16 mm is there an older version or just one version with wr
There is a 2.8 WR and an older 1.4 WR which is the one I have.
