Linzi looks still slightly traumatized from the original experience , glad she knows people now love it and she was great in Joseph at the London palladium
Hey there’s a video of the audience reaction recording!!! Here on UA-cam some guy post the rehearsals as well idk how he got them but you should check it out !!!
I was at the first Broadway preview. At intermission there still seemed to be opportunity to make this musical work. Then there was that second act which was a mess! But so so glad to have been able to see this fiasco
I have the souvenir program of tbe original stradford run signed by Barbara Cook...she signed it for me personally and was very surprised and happy to see it and took her time to remember..but maybe she had an unhappy time doing it..she didn't show it though....
Thank you for this reunion special. I saw the final preview performance and was blown away by the production. Incredible performances from Betty Buckley and Linzi Hateley - both should have been nominated for Tonys that year. The clips still give me chills.
In the early 90s there was a brief discussion about getting members of the original cast together to record an album on a different record label (possibly Original Cast Records?). Sadly it fell through, but it's greatly possible that a lot of the research that went into that project restimulated the show.
I couldn't BELIEVE no one tipped me off about this live show before it happened! Like hELLO everyone in my life who even vaguely knows me knows I'm a huge Carrie fan! For fuck's sake, my profile picture is Linzi at stage door FOR CARRIE. I had to catch it partway through, but my God was it an experience to watch this live. Hearing Linzi and Betty STILL slaying their flagship songs was a sight to behold.
Barbara Cook is an absolute legend and I adore her and I think she had some incredible moments but I do think she was miscast. Betty Buckley is THE Margret white. No one brings what she brought to the role and it is one of the greatest pairings of actress and role.
@@Jireh_theproviderWhen i became obsessed with the UA-cam footage (in 2017), Paul became important to me. I went looking (as i had done with the others one by one, ....a crush on Sally Ann, a crush on Charlotte, a crush on Linzi ...then Paul Gyngell and he's dead since 2010 . . .💔

so great to hear the origins and creation of this now-mythic musical.
THIS. I NEEDED THIS SOOO BAD. I love this show. SO MUCH.

I got to watch it as it streamed,
I cried.
It was a big deal.
This was a gift and i needed it sorely.
I love you all.

I wish they never saw the blasphemy that is the Riverdale musical episode lol
One of the most underrated show of our times. Truly amazing when I saw it back then as it still is now.
Betty Buckley still sounds awesome!!
This was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! Thank the good Lord for those with video clips!!!

OOOH I'm so excited for this one, I'm commenting at the start XD
Dean Pitchford - what a guy! I want to be like him when I grow up.

Excellent
I Remembered Linzi Hateley She Play’s The Narrator In Joseph Before I Was Born
They must have a great quality bootleg of the show! When are they releasing it???
Linzi Hateley has still got it too!
Where is the guy who played Tommy Ross ? And I wish gene Anthony ray was here 🥺😢😔
Paul sadly passed away 10 years ago.
@@pixsdomain4886 really ??? What I did not know that

Did Larry say "Ever" or "Never" to the question about if the carrie book he was writing would come out?
Question for Michael Gore: What country was the producer from? I keep forgetting.
Germany, sorry you didn't get a response till now!
Opening night playbills are on eBay!
Is that Liz Calloway singing in your new opening?
It is indeed Liz CALLAWAY .. (with an A, not an O)
jeff meshel Thanks Jeff, I’m sure I typed Callaway, but Auto-Correct wasn’t liking the correct spelling for some reason. Thanks for your help.😀
Fun fact: Liz Callaway played Sue in the original workshop of Carrie.
Thank god that girl was a born-again Christian and turned down the role of Chris because Charlotte is one of my absolute favorite parts of the show.
Would be awesome if you can get the cast of Starship Troopers. Don't forget Clancy Brown
Wish Sissy and Piper were there
This is the musical version.
Those two guys are annoying as hell, when they say long story short, they really should make the long overdrawn boring story short.
