DISCUSSION:
You are looking at a very tiny - and thin - Android phone. It is way more than a phone, however. Where a typical Android phone can make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, and run apps, this device can also Bluetooth tether to your existing “larger” phone to make and receive calls and texts through your regular phone as well.
You can use it either way or both ways as well. If you want, you can remove the SIM from your existing phone and easily slide it into this tiny phone to take you same phone number with you and leave your big phone behind. Or, you can use the tiny phone as an easy to handle miniature device that you have in your shirt pocket to grab when you need it, leaving your bulky, heavy phone on the desk. And since it works both ways, you can add a pay-as-you-go SIM card, or even and additional phone line to your existing carrier contract to have a uniques number that only works for this tiny device. Use it for emergencies, separate work line, or private personal line, it is tucked away inside this tiny phone. All the while you can still tether this device to your regular phone. It supports both features simultaneously.
We are happy to bring you this new product and, as mentioned in the video, No.1 is considering making this type of device as a convertible phone and watch. With the watch adaptor you could wear the phone as a watch, then pop it out of its cradle and use it as a phone. No longer will you be stuck with a watch up to your ear, looking silly in public.
So what do you think? Would this work for you as a watch/phone? Let us know in the comments below, and thanks for watching.
Music demo in this video comes from:

UPDATE: The audio for phone calls, the Siri app, etc, is purposely soft because it is emulating the phone speaker (the one you hold to your ear on a full sized phone). It is not loud like in a regular phone's speakerphone option. You are supposed to hold this phone to your ear just like you would with a normal sized phone. If you do, the volume will be fine.
#smartwatch
Bought this as an extra "emergency" phone to take out with me when golfing, skiing, walking when I don't want to take my usual but bulkier phone with me. It does an amazing amount of things for such a small phone. If the makers produced a strap housing so it could be worn as a watch I would definitely by it.
It's cute, it could make a nice gift for a kid, a watch strap would be a plus and the price is right.
Now you know why I like it Morry! It's the kid in me...
OK, I'll work on a list. That's a good idea.
This cell phone ??or bluetooth watch phone??
Hook and loop tape AKA Velcro comes in black and white and is the width of most watch straps. Get both sticky backed and ordinary and stick a hook patch to to phone. Make a strap out of the non-sticky loop and seal around your wrist with that on the back of the phone. The loop side is velvet-like and looks smart. You can have the phone at any angle and is easily removed when desired. Pity smartwatches have antennae in the strap!
That's better than my rubber band idea! Thanks.
Yes! Yes Yes! I would purchase it immediately if it clicked and attached via the rear center of the phone to the strap. So, if I ever I need to use the device in landscape mode it would be easy for me just to swivle watch round. Many thanks.
I think we will see something soon! It's sounding good...
:)
One drop in the loo and bye
Great idea, if you put it in the wrist strap it should go in to watch mode and when you take it out it should go to phone mode. This is a great idea for all tiny phones
Yea, would love to see more like this in a full Android watch format, and a bigger body.
This is based on my needs alone, it's not for the manufacturer to take it as general input since I don't think my opinion is really all that representative of the entire market, but here goes:
Before I learned about full Android watches and your channel, Mr. Ticks, I was looking into buying first, a simple small portable cellphone (without the smarts), which I did - on eBay, look for "smallest cellphone", it's the one the size of a finger that can be used as a headset - didn't work well for me, I think brazilian GSM bands are incompatible.
Then I decided to look for a tiny Android smartphone kinda like this Vphone S8... I almost bought one that looked exactly like a tiny iPhone 5S. Spent quite a lot of time on eBay looking at all those "smallest Android smartphone" results. I chose the best one I found on specs and size.
But then I stumbled upon the world of Android Smartwatches, found your channel, and ended up getting a Finow Q1. And just recently, I also got a Lemfo Lem5... for the screen size and roundness. xD
I'm from Brazil, so unfortunately it takes a really long time for the products to arrive thanks to brazilian customs (2+ months), but my Finow already got here, and I'm already enjoying the experience plenty. The Lemfo... oh well, probably just next year.
Back to the Vphone S8... the one thing that I'm not too comfortable with the smartwatches is that I got them because I want to have a small smartphone with me when I go running. I stopped using watches when I was a teenager because I sweat a lot, and this gets worse when I'm running. So for me personally, it'd be great to have something that could be used both as a wristwatch, and a pocket watch of sorts... which is why the non removable bands with hard wired antennas is a bit of a problem to me.
Side note: I'm also a backer for the Pebble Core kickstarter project for the same very reason - that happened before I knew of the existence of Android smartwatches.
I'm still buying the watches because I want to support development of those devices, I think they make for very awesome gifts for the family, and I'm just constantly amazed by how much they can do in such a tiny form factor. The models I bought are kinda expensive for something I'd usually give as a present, but for what they do, the price is right, can't complain. I'd pay more for my ideal watch which I'll describe further on, no doubts about it.
Here's what I can say about a possible perfect smartwatch for me: round or square is a matter of preference, I like both... but right now I'd go for a nice big round one.
I'd rather have no face touch buttons... the more screen to look at, the better. Touch buttons can be replaced by gestures or real button shortcuts.
I got the Finow Q1 because out of all the square watches available at the time, it was the one which looked closer to having the entire front facing square space occupied by a screen (even though it really doesn't). I almost got the No.1 D6 that had the same specs, but ultimately, I'm allergic to leather-like bands, and I didn't like the front facing buttons there.
The Lemfo I got because it has the huge round screen similar to Kingwear KW88 but with the Finow Q1 specs. It has non-removable leather bands, but I guess I'll have to find a way to adapt it to a cloth wrist band and deal with it.
It needs to have the latest processor and latest specs (why I bought the watches I mentioned... both have the latest MT6580 CPU with 1Gb+8Gb and Android 5.1). This is simply because the more power the better, and the latest CPUs have been evolving towards power saving and temperature control. At such reasonable prices, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to skimp on specs just to save a little bit of money - not for me.
It'd be nice to have some water resistance, removable bands, a simple camera, extra buttons and perhaps either a real crown button or a rotary bezel control, though that would probably make the watch waaay more expensive. Bare with me, I'm talking about ideal specs. xD
Since my case is specifically for running, I wouldn't mind something like a detachable silicone band like the ones you usually see on sportswatch like the Sony one, though it'd have to be a bit different to accomodate the display, plus a way to tuck and attach a lanyard there.
I already took the Finow for a run once... protected it from my sweat using a tennis wrist band under it. It wasn't a very elegant solution, but I'll be looking more into it soon... tennis wrist bands are a bit too large and puffy for my wrist, I had to use the wrist watch on it's last hole... but it worked.
Other than that, these smartwatches sounds like a perfect fit for emergency smartphones... so it makes sense to have them in form factors that can be hidden in a piece of clothing, inside the sock, or inside your boxers or something. xD Think about people with mental disabilities, elderly and whanot... a GPS tracker with full phone capabilities that can be connected to a bluetooth headset that is better for people with lower hearing capabilities. I'll get one for my mom if I can find something that fits her tastes. For those cases, the emergency button is a great add.
On the software side, I'd rather have pure vanilla Android than custom versions even if the interface doesn't fit too well, but that's just me. Apps could both solve the problem of fitting the screen better, and facilitate custom watch faces and whatnot... but the major thing that would be solved would be reliability and security. I've noticed that the custom Android versions for the smartwatches don't have encryption options on it. Could also have fingerprint scanners or fancy biometrics like vein scanners, but I suppose this is for the future... those modules are still quite big and power consuming.
I think a lot of people don't buy chinese branded smartwatches because there is still a strong suspicion on data collection and malware/spyware, something that stock Android would solve. Security updates also comes faster that way, and there's no risk of manufacturer abandonment. I've read lots of people refusing to get a chinese smartwatch because they fear or because it already happened that they got the watch, OS never got updated, and now it's stuck with an insecure version of Android that can easily get hacked or infected with malware. Privacy is always a huge worry when it comes to devices that are basically attached to yourself 24/7.
This is a huge problem not only on smartwatches but Android devices in general - tablets, hybrids, smartphones. And the only solution is to use stock Android so the updating process gets handled by Google.
I know this comes with tons of problems for devices so specific like smartwatches, but the alternative to it would be having big very recognizable brands that invest tons of money on marketing and are well known worldwide, with steady release schedules and whatnot... which is something that I'm not sure chinese smartwatch brands like Lemfo, No.1, Finow and others are willing to go through. That would necessarily make the watches way more expensive than they are now, and compete with giants like Motorola, LG, Samsung and Apple. For me personally, that would defeat the purpose. A smartwatch with all the capabilities and tech from these chinese brands would probably go upwards 400 bucks if made by those brands, and they'd be highly controlling of software and patents trying to make stuff like Tizen OS to go with them - which is something I really don't like. Open free software is always the better route.
Anyways, I have to say that for my specific needs, these watches were heaven sent. Criticisms I put aside, I honestly never even considered getting a smartwatch of other brands (like the Apple Watch, Samsung Gear, and others) before I found out about all these chinese Android smartwatches. I wasn't interested in tethering watches, I needed something that had GPS and cellphone signal embedded. I don't even care for step counters, heart rate monitors and all that stuff. For me, it's more like a secondary device for emergencies, so my case is very specific.
I hate taking stuff with me while running, they are bothersome, they are a source for chafing, so I just went running alone with only my running mp3 player (headband style - Sony NWZ-WS615). But I always got this fear that something might happen to me and I had no way of calling someone for help. With the smartwatch, that last problem I had is gone. And my running mp3 player can also work as bluetooth headset, so taking calls is a breeze.
Sorry for the long comment, but there you go... all my thoughts on the subject. :D
The pop in/out wristband could be an actually interesting addition, as long as it provides a mechanism both safe (you definetely don't want that "smurfone" to accidentally fall off) and compact, since it could result in a quite bulky smartwatch. Maybe they could go for a more "sport-ish" design and opt for something like a rubber/nylon strap with a sleeve with a transparent plastic cover where you can easily and safely store the phone and use it or take it out when needed. Maybe not the most beautiful possible choice, but definitely functional!
The product itself, by the way, seems incredibly "complete" and functional. It could be a perfect extra/emergency phone for basic usage, or even just a "richly-featured" MP3 player. A very cool gadget indeed.
I thought my rubber band was the answer! You can mount the phone either way! Your's sounds more practical, I must admit. :)
SmartWatch Ticks the rubber band is still unbeaten though! It can turn into a hemostatic lace in no time if needed! It would make the S8 not only the smallest phone on the market, but also the first smartwatch that could potentially save a life!
Not only that, in a pinch you could turn the rubber band into a sling shot and Shoot that little watch as far as you can if you get really really frustrated with it. Try that with any typical smart watch!
If this had wifi and ran the full android operating system I'd buy a couple dozen of these for an art project I'm working on. But only as a BT tethering watch I have no interest. Keep up the great work with showing us what is out there!
Well, you could buy the LEM4 and cut off the bands to make it a phone, but I think that would destroy the antennas. We are soooo close but not there yet! I feel it coming though. This is a strong step in the right direction.
If it was AMOLED and had more memory with a neck lanyard would be nice for bedside alarm and daily phone for old people but would need emergency button
but it has an slot for like SD card or micro-SD card
Yes, both a SIM card slot and an microSD (TF) slot. It does come with a neck lanyard as well.

Real cool small lightweight smartphone with wrist strap ... ! Great for travel if it has fast charger ! Optional, on hand will be great. For this phone, the volume / clarity(maybe higher notes for battery saving) of the talking sound is also important !
I loved the moment when you used the rubber to attacht it to your wrist!
Haha, I had to make it a watch so it fit being reviewed on my channel. :)
Great video just so you know If you take off the back cover of the phone you will see the SIM card slot🙂
Thanks. That makes sense. :)
I think if they can make a sort of quick release strap would work nicely with this phone. But for version 2 I would love to see this phone running android like a lot of the watches you review. Don't know if it's just me but I think it would be so cool to have a super mini phone like this running android.
Hmmm, I might buy this thing if it came with a watchband you could click it in.
The hart rate monitor should work while used with the band and the band should look good and not make the watch part too large. That might be a challenge.
Great ideas Marcel. Thanks!
Add to it band to change it to smart watch
Would love to see the watch adapter to be able to wear it on my wrist.
I think a watch band would be a great idea. I know i'd rather buy it as a watch that i can remove instead of just a device i have to wear around my neck or in my pocket.
I think they could add a kick stand to the back. So, it would sit nicely on a beside table. Easy to read & reach. Also, WiFi & Hotspot. Ps. I'm hooked on your great videos. Thank you.
Thanks Wanda! Interesting idea.
Does it work with the Play store
It's on Amazon right now.
It doesn't break easy does it? The Neptune Pine was pretty delicate.
It's all plastic including the front so I would imagine it is not sturdy. They appear to be going for a low cost small phone option with this one. If it catches on I could see a metal body, glass front full Android tiny phone upgrade unit in the future.
Not sure if this has been mentioned - as a watch, the display should be rotated to Landscape mode.
And they should add GPS and WiFi - then I might buy it to replace my aging Neptune Pine...
Good comments Jeff. Thanks.
GPS, WIFI and Bluetooth require antennae which currently means non-removeable watch straps unfortunately. Can anyone think of a way around this?
Andy Jenkinson : Interestin observation, but some watches, like my Neptune Pine, have the fractal antennae inside the case.
All my yes! Only other watch attempting this was the 'still pretty expensive' Neptune Pine. I kinda got a thing for little things that actually function. I need this, but I would probably wait an iteration or two. I'd like the more recent mtk internals and an updated Android version. I might get this anyways.
Thanks for the comments. Yea, if I didn't have this already, for about thirty bucks, I'd get one anyway, just for the joy of playing with it, and hopes that it would be improved over time. It's fun to look back on some of my old cheap stuff, like the first digital watches and early calculators to realize how far we have come. This is one of those moments from the future looking back. iPhone turns 10 next year. Ten years from now, I wonder what will sit on my arm.
Well I finally got this a week ago and while it is cool there is two things i wish it could do, and that's play MP3s over bluetooth and for the music player to recognize music folders instead of have one long list.
Well obviously I wish it were Android but whatever, it's still cool.
please let me know can we charged through Samsung computer monitor Usb slot for Vphone s8
Using the s8 for a couple of months now as a Tiny but handt compagnon. When possible to Carry my iphone6 its in thetering mode. Going out were i do not want or cannot Carry my iPhone it works strand alone as a simpele but very usable phone. Sound and handeling are good. Battery life stand-by 52 hours or 24 hours with 3 calls. I Carry it in a zippo leather lightrrpouch on my belt. So if you see it as a good communication item low cost so no tears when lossing it. Only thing is wx app. For me its nessecary to have wx info. Did sync (what way is not clear to me) every 5 days. But stopped any ideas ?
Yeah, a option to turn it into a smartwatch would be awesome.
It's on amazon right now.
Good to know. I thought this one was long gone.
Can it store n read pdf files?
Very good presentation of V phone !
Thanks!
sort of like the Sony old smartwatch sc64sw made by supersonic
but a lot more and up to date with the times
it's only 2g network att just announced they were shutting down there 2 G network T-Mobile's doing the same this would be really nice phone to keep in a travel bag but 3G capability would be great
Yes, unfortunately we are going to see a lot of good watches loose phone calling capability with the shutoff of 2G. Not the watches' fault, really, but the network's pulling away from a tried and true network system. Too bad.
Hello . Could you tell me if it has hands free automatic answering?
I don't recall seeing that feature on it. I think it needs to be touched.
I'd probably drop that with my clutsy butter fingers & then step on it by accident lol
With a sim card will this work as a stand alone phone for talk and text? With an SD card inserted can it go online to check emails or ebay? Can the i5s do any of the above? I am considering it as well.
Please Lmk thanks.
It uses the older 2G network, so the SIM may give you calling and text, but not data. The microSD card has nothing to do with going online. It's just for extra storage.
This is NO. 1 G7 by DT. NO1 Isn't it,but there is no watch band.. I think this just a prototype for NO. 1 G7.Sorry if I'm wrong
Yes, things are in the works. More to announce soon I hope. Thanks to all of you for submitting comments on what you would like in a convertible watch/phone device. Your dreams -- at least some of them -- may soon come true!
SmartWatch Ticks can we make it tethering for internet???
No, you can't access the internet via tethering, just for phone calls, texts and notifications. You need a full Android watch for WiFi and cellular internet connections.
What about battery backup?
That tiny plot twist at 7:01
Hi, what is the antutu score? Does it have poaystore?
Sorry, it's a dual mode tethering device, not an Android device so I can't load apps like Antutu on it.
Does it have the play store if not is there anyway to put it on the device
No, it does not have the Play Store, and no, you can't add it because it is not a true Android phone. It's a dual mode tethering device.
Thank you, it is a nice concept for the price I would say it is worth it as a secondary phone or emergency phone.
can use Internet??, it's a 3g or 4g??
I literally think I had a older version of this and it was actually a watch
You're right! You did! Then they made an even better one, the LEM11.
Doesn't it have a camera on the back as you've opened?
No, that's the heart rate monitor. No camera on this one.
Hi +njwilksy, I appreciate the confidence and conviction of certainty in your comment here, but I, having this device in hand, beg to differ with you. As to this being a D6 smartwatch without bands, no, it is not. I wish it were true, but this is a dual mode tethering watch, not a full fledged Android watch like the D6. If this concept of a convertible watch/phone catches on, then perhaps a modified D6 will show up in the future, but this is NOT a D6 watch. I don't want folks misled by your comment and thinking they are getting an Android watch/phone when this is not that.
As for your confidence in the fakeness of the heart rate sensor, well, it ranks with your evaluation of the device being a D6. It's not a fake. Now, it can appear to be fake if you press and hold the sensor without touching the back. You do get a reading and it's all over the place. I've pointed it to the sky, to the ground, moving all around, and I get crazy 'fake' results. But when it's touching skin, it gets serious. I get repeatable readings +/- 3 BPM with each measurement, and if I'm not holding still enough, I get an error in reading. Way different than the 'fake' air results. These are my real results with the actual device which, by the way, isn't a D6. Just felt the need to clear this up, not so much for you, but for others who may be reading this. I appreciate your comments, because it prods us to look deeper into these devices.
please
i have no1.D5+ and samsung j7
i want to answer call and make call from watch and control camera
watch helper program can not make that
i wonder if you could tether a smartwatch to this?
Brilliant! I'll have to try this with my LEM4. Put the SIM in that one but talk through this one. Thanks for the idea.
Android does not equal tether. tether equals Apple equals Android Wear. Adrian.
well i was thinking an android wear (ones without sim). this would give various watches out there the ability to double as a calling device and u just have the v phone stowed away. i was always interested in a bluetooth adapter but this would prob do it better
I wish it could have UA-cam in this mini cute phone
Nice display! Like the device!
I want to buy this phone
nice idea...should have more memory atleast 16 Gb even though the cost would go up.
It does have a microSD card slot inside so you can add memory. I' pretty sure it can handle at least 16 GB if not more.
👍thanks
Dear SmartWatch Ticks! I just buy this Vphone S8 and your video was really helpful, better than the others. However I could not manage the application installing to the phone. I did the same (my wife has an HTC android phone, installed the same Fundo app) but there is nothing under the My Applications - at video 28:53), although my wife has lots of applications on the HTC. (in the Vphone I used my own SIM card). Could you please help what's wrong? Thank you, Csaba from Hungary
I do not understand the problem. You need to use the Fundo Wear app on the phone to connect with the watch. IF that one doesn't work, uninstall it and try the app Mediatek SmartDevice. Make sure all other Bluetooth devices are shut off when you try and connect (or go outside with the phone and S8 away from anything else running Bluetooth so there is no conflict.
Thank you for your response, I was not specific. So Fundo Wear application is on the phone, they are connected to each other via bluetooth (I tried the camera app as mentioned in the video and that is working), I can start calls and sending SMS via bluetooth, so I think this is not a hardware issue. One question: the Apps inside the Fundo Wear connected to which account (which SIM card)? The one in the big "phone", or in the Vphone watch?Or the problem is that there is a difference between Smartwatch applications and other applications (what are not able to run on Smartwatch)... (?) Thank you!
Fundowear is all about tethering, so it's all about the SIM in your phone. If you put a SIM in your watch, it works independently and is not associated with your phone in any way. IF you initiate a call on your watch through the dial pad, before it dials it will ask you if you want to place the call remote via the phone or locally via the SIM in the watch. That's how it works for dual mode watches.
Are you sure it didn;t have a sim card slot, as the one my friend hass, does have a SIM slot7
You know what? I think you're right. I was thinking about a microSD slot, but you're right, it's a phone! It must have a SIM card. Make sure that your SIM will work on the GSM 2G network though, as I doubt this supports 3G being an older device.
How's Batterylife?
Well, it lasted through the review!
love this phone
Help..!!! When I conect Bluetooth headphones Im not allowed to open the music app. has somebody the same issue?
It should be able to be transformed into a watch with wrist band.
Thanks Nantasit. That's what they are working on as a concept.
This is cute and can be usefull for a budget
Yes, like a tiny phone.
I want device
I think it's better as a standalone phone, no strap
Very true, and it disappears into your hand. You can do the same with the G7 as well.
Put a case on it like with iPod nano
Does it support T9 input?
I couldn't find that option. It might though. I just don't know where to look.
Yes please
He totally sounds like walter white omg ❤️
Google play/android store?
No, it's not an Android watch so it won't have ability to download apps.
Well, it doesn't even have a full size keyboard, nor a 24MP forward edge camera, nor 4K capabilities, I mean....kinda cheap. Lmao. Awesome little phone. Cheers
How can order it?
The buying information is in the Show Notes under each of the review videos. For this one, this is the link:
Vphone S8, goo.gl/rcXGlw Coupon:59aa9d33b0 Price:$29.88
It may have expired by now, as this is an old listing. If it doesn't work for you, then just Google Vphone S8.
Were can I order one please
Look in the show notes for buying options.
Does anyone knows if this really runs android? If so, which version? Can you somewere enable usb debug or does it responds to adb anyway? This thingy would be much cooler if one could run own apps on it.
Edit: just digged around in a firmware update a bit. Looks like this device is not running android, as far as i can see that it runs apps from "Mediatek OS SDK" and they look like running on an operating system called "Nucleus RTOS". Looks like it support apps in "vxp" format. Could be possible to build own apps, but it likely a tricky thing to do so.
No it does NOT run Android. It's a tethering watch.
I allready wrote that. It runs Nucleus RTOS. And there are plenty chinese smartwaches running android
Yes, but I answer comments oldest to newest so I was replying to the first comment. You beat me, but I don't see your comment until 100 to 200 comments later. It takes me days sometimes to get through the backlog. Thanks for answering!
ya..but its not running android, just another tethering watch without bands...lol. would be great to see if its running android, have a camera on the back instead of heart rate, and a detachable band.
Yep, you're right. It's not Android. I fixed the title. It's a dual mode tethering device. Still, it's a start in an interesting direction. If they can your out an effective snap in/out watch band for this, then the innards can be changed as technology improves.
7:00 hello friend!
Now you see why I don't shoot in 4K video! How did that little critter go wailing buy without notice. Hmmmmm.....
Why would you want this if you have to tether it to your phone???
Perhaps holding one on each ear lets you hear your conversation in the middle of your head? Good question. I don't think it's been a top seller. You do know they messed around with it and made a crazy watch band for it so you can wear it on your arm. Perhaps this was the early model before the watch version came out.
I want this so I can record all the fights in my school and not get noticed. But the camera is crap tho... 😕
The fights probably aren't worth it anyway. The cameras on the newer watches, like the Genesis are much better.
how to shop it
Look for shopping link in show notes under each of the videos.
This thing has a camera?
No, not this one.
can it have 3.5 mm headphone jack
No, it is too small. Use Bluetooth headset.
I’ll be interested
Wat's battery life
Well, it lasted through the review! I don't honestly know, but the battery is pretty small. I doubt it would be much if you use it a lot.
Nobody said it was a “wristwatch”, is a neckwatch.
Exactly! There's a different model just like this with a wrist housing that makes it a smartwatch. This is a tiny PHONE, hence "Vphone".
Tiny phone/watch, nothing special. How can we fit the strap into that thing?
There is a version of this exact same phone/watch with a special strap mount to use as a watch, also by NO.1 watch company.
Lol there's a little bug walking by at 7 minutes
Yikes! How did I miss that! Grrrrr..... Well, I live deep in nature and it's so hard to keep up with them. Good catch though. When I see that happen I stop the video and start it over. Totally missed this one. Good catch! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
in menus it's reminds me so much tethering no.1 watches.
i think its cute but not more, probably as a sos phone, for somebody who no need something more than calls and wants a simple phone.
until i knew standalone android watchphones i would like to have this phone as a mini phone, but, knowing finow, d5, etc.. i am not impressed about it.
you cannot send emails, not wifi conectivity, etc.. depends so much of a phone. you might lost in your pocket..
the future has form of watch, probably with projector, with a perfect recognition of voice, speech.
thanks for the review.
Great ideas Jose! I'm hoping to see the market mature to the level you're talking about as well. The projector idea is great. Something this small that could be set on a table and project on the wall would be exciting.
man if it has a wrist strap to snap into it be cool too
You can!

my carrier is AT&T USA im in Calif i think you are also MR.Tick ... Will I be able to make and receive Calls with a AT&T SIM CARD
If Vphone S8 too small
Yea, and it's not 4G LTE either. It came out when 3G was the latest network.
it's used Indian sim
Can it check WhatsApp messages??
It has camera
did anyone saw that ant across the screen?
Oh no! Not so much the ant, but somebody actually is watching the video all the way through! Hint: this isn't the only one out there with a straggling ant upstaging me. Glad you saw it. :)
i dont think is android?
No, it's dual mode. I should update the title so it is not confusing. True Android would be more like the LEM4 without straps. Good catch. Did this late before going to bed. I always think of phones as Android or Apple, but this is something different. I'll change it now.
I want perchage website name
Look out for the ant in the background
Yes, yes, they're everywhere! They just sneak in uninvited. Keen eye!
Good vid....keep it up the good work!
only if you are a SPY
I want Mobile
Neptune Pine
I think you are Pine-ing for your Neptune Pine!
Morry may be reviewing that watch for us when he gets his. I'ld like to see it too.
I found it for sale in google search
Yes, the Vphone S8 appears to be the same basic module as the G7. It's an older device so you need to look around for a good price. You might find used ones for resale on eBay as well.
Can I have the watch please
70 bucks?
Really old review. Original iPhone was $600, so back then it was a steal!
Youforgot the camera
Hi its cool man
Great for a elementary school kid.
Yea, it would be a fun toy. Needs a network that still works on 2G EDGE technology though.
Did anyone else see the ant crawl across the table?
Another one! Darn. They're everywhere! Wait until you see the videos with the baby lizards!
no .......
U think 1mb is enough for 1 album? Lol
Perhaps an album from the 60's with 8 songs of 2 minutes each. :)
nice, useless, but cool
That's exactly what I said when I ate my first M&M candy. History repeats itself.
OMG it's getting worse. This is a seriously poor excuse for a D6 if I dare compare them. Ohh no I just did. Sorry Mr. Ticks. Adrian
True, this doesn't compare with the D6. This is a dual mode tethering watch. I fixed the video title to reflect that. Sorry about any confusion.
Mr Ticks. So can you answer a call on s8 watch which (without sim) comes from a Mobile Phone and talk through s8 and text using s8 (without sim) using bluetooth tethering between the 2. Still Confused about tethering capability. If so it is not completely a DUD! Adrian.
OK, +Adrian, let's say you are tethered to your phone with this S8 and a call comes into your phone from somewhere. You should see the buttons to answer or decline on both your phone and watch. IF you answer on your watch, you can talk and hear the other person. On this S8, which is a 'phone' you need to hold it to your ear to hear like you would with a phone. For tethered watches, the volume is much louder, like speakerphone mode on a regular phone. Same example, if you answer from your phone instead of your watch, one of two things might happen. You might be connected by your phone and be able to converse as normal or, and this is usually the situation, you answer from your phone but the audio is routed to your S8. In this case the S8 is acting like a Bluetooth connected earpiece. If you don't want that, then on your phone you need to cancel the Bluetooth by tapping the BT button to go to normal mode and put the phone to your ear, or tap the speakerphone button to disconnect BT audio and route it to your phone's speakerphone speaker.
Now if you have a SIM in your S8, and you set up call forwarding in your phone to forward to your S8's phone number, a call to your phone will bypass your phone and ring on your S8. If you get a call to your S8 number, it will ring on your S8 as well.
If, instead, you only want the S8 for calling out, then setting up call forwarding on your S8 number to your phone's number will result in your phone getting all the calls from both numbers. Your S8 is for outgoing calls only, especially if you're not tethered to your phone.
Probably more than you're asking, but I was on a roll, so there you go!
You were on a roll Mr Ticks. Thanks for the information. Fully understood. Well that makes the watch, when it gets some bands, something different, and now know what you mean by Dual Mode. It would be many people's hope that this Mode (or being able to tether) be a part of some of the Smart Watches with higher specs like the D6, D5+ or Lem5 etc............ I would think. Adrian.
That would be the dream come true. Dual mode functionality on an Android watch.
