Xavi’s position dropped pretty deep in this game. Anyways, it is always difficult to mark a player like Xavi. But it became nearly impossible when you had Busquets, Iniesta and Messi around him. It is incredible to see the speed and efficiency of how the ball circulated during Pep’s Barca. The tactical value and work rate of Pedro and Villa were also under appreciated. I wouldn’t say Xavi was the best playmaker I have ever seen but he certainly was one of the best.
MidfielderParadise MatchHighlights I would say no one could replace Xavi in Pep‘s Barcelona but saying he was the best is too strong. There were the likes of Valedrrama, Zidane, Matthaus, Gullit, Redondo, Pirlo, Modric who could absolutely exert similar influence to their team as Xavi did to Barcelona and many of them have been proven in different teams, weaker or stronger.
@@midfielderparadisematchhig5785 am agreed bro , personally, xavi is a dip lying mildfield who knows how to dictate the game than any one else ,we all remember Fergie's comments after the game.
Purposefully deep. He understood that with Man Utd playing 4 man in the midfield and Rooney on Busquets, playing closer to Busquets would free either himself or Busquets up to receive from the defence. Rooney obviously can't take them both and dropping that far away from the midfield would discourage the Man utd midfield from pressing him. If they did decide to, it would only increase the space between that line and the Utd defence line for Messi to play in.
I watch the full match recently and am going to watch if again because this match by barcelona but specifically xavi and Iniesta is hands down the one of the greatest performance I've ever seen if not the greatest 🤩🤩it just makes you fall in love with the gamw
UEFA reported that Xavi completed 124 of 136 passes, which would equate to a 91% success rate, but the BBC reported that Xavi completed as many as 141 of 148 passes, which would equate to a 95% success rate. That is a big difference!
To be honest, Xavi was the main person whom we missed the most. Messi and rakitic was like similar, i mean, both of them were attacking. We needed someone who could just hold the ball and supply, cover up the space etc. And then, there was alves whose departure wouldn’t matter if the current cb were there back then.
Vintage performance from xavi, he is really an example for all midfielders, with his movement and passing
Xavi was not the part of the system , he himself was the system ❤
EXACTLY
One of the greatest to ever kick a ball, absolute genius

I dont think playmaking was really his main job he was more like an orchestrator, dictating the tempo of the game no one does that better than him

@@danielgalea8499 yh they got beat by tactics and a shit ton of movement and passing
Usually I prefer these with commentary. But you chose good calm beat that suits his style of play. Liked the video!
El mejor mediocampista de la historia
For me was the man of the match. Dropped back for busquets that day and took control back in that game.
I would say that but messi was insane dribbling everywhere, the whole midfield was excellent
Wow ! All those good old days❤ Missing him. Nice video man
As a barca fan, I loved watching Xavi play even moreso than Messi and Iniesta, just a pleasure every game.
Loved all 3 of them along with busquets they made barca fun to watch
