i've analysed more full barca games focusing on xavi than i can count and his movement is just 2nd none. He loves moving on the blind side of defenders to create space, he loves to curve his runs into space to open his body and keep the space free until the moment he wishes to recieve within it, when barca has posession he often flows against the movement of the opposition to create space for himself or his teamate as an 8. He is simply always in the right place at the right time for his team.
It’s also how he manipulates space for him self and team mate, also scanning the field. This is football IQ at its finest. What makes a complete midfielder is that 🧠
Frankie de jong can be the next Xavi but he need someone to support him and the team have to get back their style of moving with&without the ball and they need more support to get the confidence to shoot on the opponent from distance 🥺..#Barca forever#🥺♥️

In my opinion, Iniesta could basically do what he could do, and be a good dribbler with some speed on top of that (just to give an example). That whole Barcelona era was overrated to be honest, analysts claim those teams had the best midfield (xavi, iniesta, busquets), best CBs (Pique, Puyol/Mascherano), best Wingbacks (Jordi Alba, Dani Alves the rapist), best Offense (Messi, David Villa/Neymar, Pedro/Suarez) and best System... and still they didn't dominate. Instead they regularily went out in the round of 16 of the CL. Something doesn't add up here. Perhaps the players were not the absolute best at their positions, but instead just very good. Be real, the team was carried by Ronaldinho and Etoo in 2006, Xavi was some filler player. 2009 the semi was manipulated, no one who actually watched the game thinks Barca owns that CL title. Pretty much safe to say nowadays since the Ref stopped working as a Ref within a year and payments of Barca to referees have been exposed.
De Jong is good, it's just that no one is comparable to Xavi or Iniesta. But de Jong is a great player, one of the few good players in the current Barça.
