Three weeks later and I'm still thinking about that hotel room 🤩 sleeping with the balcony open listening to the sea, probably the best nights sleep I've ever had 😂
@@Andy-P you'll notice that it's mostly the younger generation that think this way because they've been indoctrinated in school. the older generation wants to reunify. most of the island wants status quo.
@@randomname931 The younger generation appreciate the freedoms of democracy and want to keep it. I notice how you use indoctrination where I would use education. I think that is a autocratic view. Use education to indoctrinate a well tried system. Keeping the status quo means no war. If the Taiwanese want to join China then at the next election in 2024 they can vote for a peacefull joining. Personally I cannot see that happening.
@@Andy-P it absolutely is indoctrination. every school system does it. even the US as I well know. but it is taiwan that has changed the lesson to indoctrinate the kids that they are not chinese.
Glad you had a good time in Xiamen! I moved here just for a few years, and now 8 years later I can't imagine living anywhere else. And finding coffee should never be a problem as (I was told) Xiamen has the most coffee shops per capita in all of China. In fact there was just a coffee festival on gulangyu last weekend. You missed it by a few weeks. :P
I noticed the ring on your ring-finger, congrats!!! The video is awesome but still some little suggestions for you. In geography, Xiamen locates at east China sea, rather than south China sea. The BGM in Dongshandao part sounds like Indian style, which is a little weird to match the video. And another suggestion, in 8:38 the Chinese character for "门" you chose is also weird, which I think it's from the Japanese Kanji version.
Hi there! Am a fan of your videos though just a small correction for your description. Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian province instead of Xiamen, even though the latter is a fantastic city and hub in its own right. Thanks!
Thanks for the video Harvey! I am planning to goto Dong Shan Dao next month. How did you travel there from Xiamen? Train, private hire? I am also planning to stay on the island for couple days. My travel partners are not comfortable with a two wheel scooter, how did you guys get around the island? Can I use Didi taxi to get around? Would really-really appreciate your advice here. Much appreciated!
I think we drove, there is a bridge if I remember rightly. It's easier to get around on scooter, but you can also call a didi. It's a really great place, hopefully it's still warm in November
It was amazing! We got back from Dongshandao so late that they had given our room away because they thought we weren’t checking in… So they gave us this family room instead!
Xiamen has some very interesting old European inspired mansion i believe.. would have love to see it.. by the way i think i saw a turkish ice-cream seller.. what the hell is he doing in Xiamen..
Thanks for watching! Drop a like if you think Xiamen's pretty! 👆

Lived in Xiamen for 6 months in 2019. Amazing place. Much more chill than Shenzhen too. Nice video man. Keep grinding.
It’s beautiful 👍
Props for acknowledging Taiwan as a province.
👍👍👍
Taiwanese don't think so. There again you are not free to say anything different about Taiwan publically in China.

Thanks aha, not a wedding ring, us Brits wear wedding rings on our left hand, this one on my right!
I liked the music, my girlfriend said it was Chinese flute but better suited to the Huangshan video, I did say to her I thought it was Indian though 😂

No problems. I'm going to drive down the coast looking for surf anyway ... Waves expected tomorrow 🙂@@Harveyinchina
