I can’t believe I just tuned in to American Idol tonight and heard him sing for the first time, I let my husband listen to him sing Monsters, he cried, he died 5 times on November 12th in 2022 and my daughter & I did CPR till EMT arrived, he pulled through. I said this boy is going to win and he did tonight and I’m so happy for him! He’s Awesome! ♥️

Iam Tongi is a beautiful singer.
I'm worried about his weight. I don't want him to leave us too early in life . I can't imagine him not being here to keep singing for us. I'm not saying this to hurt him I'd never intentionally do that ❤. I just really enjoy his singing. His voice is just magical.
He's beautiful on the inside and out. I think Iam is handsome young man. I'm 70 and I'm from the generation of Dean Martin, Frank S ( ol'Blue eyes ) and many more. Iam keep sharing your beautiful voice . Your dad ( Rodney ) is proud of you !!!!!❤
I also have concern for Iam's weight. I have been a nurse for 28 years.. There are so many possible weight related illnesses. "IZ was 37 yrs when he passed. I am pretty sure he passed from weight related complications." IZ" was a Hawaiian Legend. He had a beautiful voice and he was so down to earth and true to himself.
A lot of people compare IZ and Iam. Iam is on the way to becoming a legend, I wanna see him enjoy the ride. He is just 18 years old, and at that age they think they are invincible. I wish he understood the stress he is putting on his heart and lungs. I don't want to see him leave us early in life either. He is so talented and appears to be just a beautiful soul.

There are many people who turn to food for the comfort zone. Now that he had his singing career going on full of positives . The world loves him and his singing. That he'll be able to get it together and get healthy.

When the judges critic Iam, they never compare him to any other singer. He has a unique soothing voice to sooth the sole. Maybe Iz, but not that many outside of the islands are familiar to him. Whatever, I can listen to him all day like no other .

I've loved everything about Iam's Homecoming to Hawai'i and the North Shore community, from the special homecoming/graduation ceremony at Kahuku High School and the visit to his old elementary school to the convoy, and especially the concert at Turtle Bay. And at every moment, he was surrounded by cheers, cheehoos, yessuhs, hugs, shakas, signs, lei, and words of aloha and support. You could just feel the embrace and lifted spirits of everyone he came in contact with (and even online). I had been thinking there's nowhere else he could have had a graduation ceremony like that or be made an honorary senior at the school he left almost four years ago, and though the other two American Idol contestants probably had warm, enthusiastic welcomes from their hometowns (though I know Colin faced some bad weather), I don't think it could compare to the feelings of love and support Iam is getting from the whole state of Hawai'i as he is embraced as our Local Hero.
Then I got to thinking, what would have happened if Iam had gone back to Federal Way in Washington State, which is technically his and some his family's home now, and he's been attending the high school and is supposed to graduate with his class (though nothing has been said about that yet). I wondered what kind of event they would have planned for him at his high school in Washington and especially how the concert would have been. There definitely wouldn't have been the same response to the music he performed and the artists he performed with because many of the people there have only heard the songs he did on Idol, or maybe what he posted on social media. And when Kawika Kahiapo said he and other "Uncles" like Jack Johnson and John Cruz have adopted Iam and are going to mentor him and guide him in the direction he needs to go, I knew that's exactly what he needs, and why he needs to come Home and base his musical career from Hawai'i. He needs to make music he loves and is comfortable with, coming from what he grew up with and feels connected to, and how many artists on the continent can take him under their wings and really understand where he's coming from and where he should go?
I think if Iam had gone back to Seattle for his "homecoming," it really would not have been that memorable or all-encompassing as the last two days in Hawai'i. How could it be?

I’m from Washington and lived in Oahu for the past three years and I can assure you it would not even be anywhere near anything people would not even hardly acknowledge him. I’m so glad I get to see all this footage I wish I was there to experience it myself
