Ahhhh this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Using it for a totally different reason. I'm leaving my job in December and going to plant loads of these around my work for like when my colleagues open a cupboard or fridge etc and it'll be a recording of me saying or singing something
...I made a box 'turntable' with a music record on it. I reproduced the record labelled with song name &group logo in centre ... Then recorded part of my nephew's band playing their studio recorded/released song... A few years back, now... It was v well received as a birthday card :) edit: lol...I just noticed my message(below) of four years ago... ... I must have made my nephew's card just after watching your(Sam's) above instruction... thanks for inspiring a lasting memory, Sam x
Two years later but still relevant. We just got this product in our city. I was trying to figure out how to use it and I found your page. Very nice card, I love it. Also the explanation for the recordable sound kit very well explained and was fun to listen to you. Thank you so much.
A zillion thanks. After watching this video in July the search began. Found recorders (30-second allowance) on the net - took 13 days to arrive, and yes, the units work just fine. I cannot thank you enough. I would not have known the devices were available had I not watched your channel. You are so amazing.
A great idea Sam to send to those loved ones that are so far away. It's amazing how just the sound of that special persons' voice makes to you when you are so very far from home. Thank you flower, with crafty hugs from Scotland
Thank you. That is a very informative tutorial. I had liked at a few sites that didn't provide any very clear idea of how it works and how to make a card that looked professional.
A few years ago I brought a voice recorder to make a card for my husband's blind aunt, unfortunately she passed away before I made and sent it. Your tutorial reminded me that I had one somewhere. I found it mine has two separate buttons one record one to play a separate led, a separate mic and electronic panel with two Lr47 batteries and speaker. It's my middle daughters 40th birthday beginning of August, thought I'd make a light up 40 for her but finding the Mic again think I'm being a bit ambitious but light up speaker card thank you for reminding me all I can say is god help me 😵😜😵😕
just genius what you have shown and i once got a recorded card i was so intrigued on how it worked the card was from one of my sons so i never took it apart because i save them to look back on .it would be fun to make some thanks for taking the time to show the process and you made it looks so easy thank you Sam i loved the style of the card as well kind regards Janine
Years ago Sizzix had something called "Talking Tag" and it could do voice or video. But it was a label that had to be scanned. I still have them but don't know if they work anymore because they have been discontinued. Love your card! Beautiful 😊 Hugs....Janie
My recorder arrived, however I will be making something out of chipboard to cover the recorder button as it got pressed and the message was wiped out several times by accidental pushing of the recorder button. So I am trying to make something hard to cover that spot on the card. I would have never even have made one if it weren't for this really cool tutorial. Thank you. This is sooo much fun.
I love the card. My husband purchased one from a store years ago, and had my grandson talk in it. I treasure it still. Having the ability to make one for a loved one is very exciting. I did want to let you know the Happy Birthday song is copyrighted so I think there is a time limit of how much you can play if it and not be charged. I just wouldn't want you to get slapped with a fee for showing us how to make this incredible card.
Thank you for your comment. I'm pretty sure I heard a few years ago now that its ok for anyone to sing it. Free to use due to some copyright loophole that found. I haven't heard anymore, but the last I knew it was ok. I will have to check it out again. 🤔
The public is free to sing the world's most famous song. Music publisher Warner/Chappell will no longer be allowed to collect licensing royalties on those who sing "Happy Birthday" in public and will pay back $14 million to those who have paid for licensing in the past, according to court settlement papers filed late Monday night.
I love this Sam. I am off to order these. I live in the USA but my family are in the UK. It will be such a nice surprise to send this to my mum for her birthday in September, with a message from her great grandchildren, as well as from me. Love, love, love it. Thank you for sharing this.
This is really cool! I just ordered 2. I cannot wait to get them and make some cards. Your cards are stunning Sam. Love the decoration. Thank you for sharing!
I love this idea! I've often thought of making these, but I haven't...yet! I really love the technique you use with the holo paper-backed shards shooting out of the middle. Thank you for sharing your talent once again! :)
Hi the speaker card is fabulous and can’t wait to try it out. Can you tell me where the voice recorder gadgets were bought please. I am an avid fan of your cards and have tried lots of your designs, the first and sometimes the second attempts are donated to charity, but I make cards for my family and friends and my grandchildren especially would love a speaking card for Xmas, birthdays already gone but they both had one of your card designs. Thank you for sharing your tutorials it is very much appreciated. Kindest regards Susan.
Love this. I did find them on eBay. Batteries not included. The ones I bought look exactly like the ones in the video. Do know what size battery is in the ones you have by chance?
I'm hoping you can help me. I bought some recorders from another source and I get the beep to record, 2 beeps when I' finished recording then nothing happens when exposed to light. Did you have to adjust anything to get yours to work properly? Thanks for any help you can give.

We did it guys, we found the sociopath. Don’t let it near children.

Hmmm, how reliable is a light reactive system? I’d have thought they’d work on a broken circuit. Is there a broken circuit option?
Oh! Link doesn’t work anymore...
