This video shows the quickest way through the game. It is not how you score the most points though, you do that by making a fire on each level, allowing three eggs at a time to hatch and rescuing the babies. Takes a lot longer, is way more difficult but scores much bigger points. Another cool thing to note with this game is that you could end the level at any time by warping out without carrying any eggs or having caged any babies. You would then get negative points for any eggs left behind. It would make sense to do this on later levels where surviving is difficult and if you warped in some distance from the last few eggs. Great game, some very original ideas even to this day.
I had this on my C64 when I was a kid. Not one of my favourite games, but somehow I liked the atmospheric backround graphics (the mountains), thats why this game did stay in my mind.
In Dino Eggs you play a scientist who must travel through time to collect dinosaur eggs to prevent them from going extinct. The dino mom will try to stop you, and poisonous spiders poison you. You can use logs to start a fire and keep enemies at bay. You can warp to different platforms, and make an energy shield for protection. The game is fun and challenging.
All this things are true, but there is more to it than that. The fires are not just for keeping enemies at bay, they are for hatching dinosaur eggs into dinosaur hatchlings. You need to place the eggs close to the fire for them to hatch. Then you jump them to capture them, and teleport them using the portal. You can add more wood to the fire by adding a single branch when it's about to go out. That saves you wood.
If I'm not mistaken, this is not correct. I was wondering when I saw that. You're supposed to only be able to carry three at a time, plus captured dinosaur babies. You have to warp out, and when you warp back in, you can get three more.
@@sikecar534 What you need to do, is start a fire, as the game prompts you to do. You pick up a branch and place it onto another. Then a fire will start, which will remove the threat from the dino mother, who is stomping at you. It will also allow eggs near the fire to hatch. That's your real objective.
Collect eggs. Drop boulders to access hidden eggs. Don't get hit. Warp eggs out, then yourself. Easy. Last level he collected wood he ignored form earlier levels to create fires to stop the dino-mom-stomp. One of the eggs hatched on the last level as well he didn't collect and trapped it.
Now 55, i played this game when i was arround 14 - 15 ;) How time flies.

One of my favorite C64 games :)
Man, I loved this game.

This was one of the best games I had on the ol' C64. Very underrated and fun!
That dino mum foot always gave us the creeps back in the days...
Playing this game right now on my C64

I played this game so often when i was a child
In the eighties i got hooked on this game😂
Yeah I used to play this game a lot when I had the c-64. Long game but interesting
I played this game but I don't remember seeing the actual story behind what was happening. I do remember the enormous Dino foot slamming down though!
Nice game and the main charcter looks like a Lemming!

can carry 19 eggs at one time?

@@DrJ3RK8 You can, but you have to take power-up, which looks like some kind of plant or something.

@@amundbisgaard7295 I know. I am THAT old. But you can't hatch all the eggs. And you can carry more than 3 eggs with that power-up I've described.....
@@sikecar534 Roger that. Just make sure you don't put all your eggs in one basket.
This game has no end?
Is that a Lemming?
Sure looks like one. I remember completing Oh no more lemmings, we beat every level. The patience we had back then.
You mean the thing that wasn't around untill 8 years later Lemming? no it's not.
This game doesn't make sense

NadrianATRS Not true.
I agree to some extent, as this player reserves himself from the main objective, which is rescuing live dinos, not just collecting eggs.
@@mikecronis You are supposed to start fires on every level and hatch those eggs. Points from live hatchlings are much higher.
