Actually, the way the system is designed, the circle shape lights (which burned out years ago) tell you what your car is doing. The arrows tell you what the other car is doing so the operator would know who took the call.

That's one of the best lifts sytem iv've ever seen ! that's not kone or tyssen krupp crap for shure ! If it's well maintained, it could last for ever (and I hope it did'nt/wont get modded) !
Clément 2000 - I think that Thyssenkrupp is good. Usually KONE is good but when generic brands mod these it’s becomes a pure piece of CRAP!!! Schindler is OK!
Do you know the future of these elevators? I'm guessing they ran out of money to modernize them. Maybe when the economy gets better, these elevators will be modernized.
Understood,though we both grew up in this area and visited the former Mays todays TCFM as teenagers and researched the Mays Building in Levittown, NY,building was built in the middle 1950's and these westinghouse elevators are the originals.Images of America book series, Lev., NY,has early May's Lev Location publicity photo of May's shoppers at front store window displays that once were the full length of May's bldg.front facade. Note, by mid 1970's May"s removed all front window displays and venered a blue curtain wall facade to cover these. They only retained the entry door lobby window display viewable from the foyers entering through Mays Customer entry doors.
You elevator people are pretty cringey. I used to belong to one of these little niche interests that only 12 year olds have. I sincerely hope you grow out if it brother, unless you plan on getting a career pertaining to elevators. It was also pretty cringey how you acted around that building operator that took you up to the machine room. That wasnt even close to professional.
+Cessna 182a Not putting down on ih8escalators, but there are other elevator enthusiasts out there who set a much better example for this hobby. DieselDucy, TJElevatorfan, and Jimster586 are a few people out there who set a good example for others to follow. No foul language in their videos, and they generally show better respect to others in public. I personally try to set a good example myself with my videos.
I love the relays, startup, humming sound, indicators, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ELEVATOR!!!
