Nice review! I have been looking at some underquilt options and stumbled across the cocoon, which is how I found your video. I like how you showed all 3 available options. Very helpful in helping me make some purchasing decisions.
Ordered the quilt because of this review - I hope you get royalties from SnugPak. Depending on where you geographically and the temperatures I’d sack off the under-quilt completely and just get the cocoon, as with it open it does the same thing. If you combine it with the tropical hammock with the bug net you can have it on the bottom with the bug net up.
Nice video! I actually bought the quilt to use as a type of backpacking quilt, and it's great. With the right layers and with a decent sleeping pad I was pretty toasty.
Take the longer cords on the under quilt and tie them straight up to a ridge line. This will raise the the sides of the under quilt, holds tighter underneath.
Just got a Snugpack Cocoon for a trip on Foothils Trail in Upstate South Carolina in February. Thanks for the review man, Im excited to get mine out and test it!
Don't bother, you'll just be wasting your money. DD have been going downhill for the last couple of years now. Snugpak is a great UK company that not only listen to any complaint or ideas for improvement, they actually act on them.
+josh payne There is not a specific rating for the quilts because it depends so much on how you set it up. I would say it's good to maybe 40s if you had a sleeping bag with a similar rating. Beyond that you will need either a top quilt or a warmer bag. I took it down to high 20s with the top quilt and a 40 degree bag. Got a tad cold towards the morning. -Vlad
Great review! Earned a sub. I love Snugpak products (most of them anyway). They are a company that listens to end users when you don’t like something about a product too. A+ in my opinion. Side note: that looks an awful lot like Washington Forest there Sir...
Nice ham hock setup 😂👍🏼
Now I'm hungry from hearing about ham hocks!!!
Just ordered the quilt based largely on your review. Thank you and may God bless!
Glad to help
I thought he was saying ham hock most the video

+Jim Ritt That's a great idea. I will try that.
I concur, this keeps the underblanket up against the underside of the hammock for a toasty warm night's sleep.

You’re welcome
Hiked with mine above Brevard on the art Lobe, made a world of difference!
Sorry, but use a Pursik Knot on your ridge line, I use s-biners and tied long lines from under quilt hooked into Pursik knot. Hang long prosper
Thank you for reviewing these products, I was at Sportsmans Warehouse recently and was looking at these.
good stuff!
What is a hamlock?
it's what you use to keep people from stealing your bacon
@@karlhungusjr1 americans like me say it as hammick but spell as hammock.

Ham mock!
Ahahaha 😂😂
😂🤣😂🤣😂
how much wt all 3? how much it cost?
interested in cocoon, can it be used as a under quilt as well ? without zipping it up.
+Ta Price Yes. It's basically like an under quilt if you don't zip it up.
Review OG,
thank you for that quick response. the cocoon is the one for me then.
also, how is it for diagonal sleep when zipped ?
+Ta Price You're welcome! You can sleep somewhat diagonal, but not too much. The cocoon in not very wide.
by the way, bought one (cocoon) been using it 2 seasons now . love it. great piece of kit.
Looks good. How would you compare it to others? Thanks
+Wilson Miranda Its definitely the most inexpensive option I've found, and it performs fairly well too! - Vlad
. probably a good option for me, since I am not in a very cold weather.
Thanks
good audio.

Did you stay dry?
+Caleb Mckenzie Yup.
superbe... merci.
Cool video. Liked and subbed!!
It's funny that the shipment to Europe costs as much as the underblanket. Thanks for the review though.
I found a uk site that sells them
They're a UK company...
Not that their US website makes that obvious.
It's not that your hammock is long you have it pulled to tight
HAMHOCK, HAMMOCK, SPELLED THE SAME, JUST PRONOUNCED DIFFERENTLY!
I know I’m almost a year late to the party but having your hammock above those rocks isn’t the best idea
your hammock is hung WAY to tight!!
Hes definitely an amateur!
Your hammock is too tight!
Just because it is spelled HAMMOCK, IT'S NOT PRONOUNCED THAT WAY! IT'S PRONOUNCED HAMMICK!!!!
So it’s pronounced hammock?
Please stop saying it like that....
Like what?
TERRIBLE REVIEW!!!!!!!!
Thank you.
Great review. Amen to your closing remarks.
thank you.
