The price for a cup of drip coffee was already high at $1.5. Now it’s $3 or $4. Way too much for a cup of coffee that can be made at home for.20 cents.
I found out earlier today that the CEO of Starbucks uses a private jet to commute between California and Washington State. I’m not spending my hard earned money to support that anymore.
A "welcoming" Starbucks ...yea ok. My final line was when your Northgate mall 24hr store got rid of all chairs/tables and determined that I, a paying repeat customer, couldn't use the restroom at 1pm.
@@JJGhost-b3m Ha, I realized this was even happening when I volunteered my time at The Mission. Back then I didn't even buy Starbucks pastries because it's not something I'd spend my earning on (too expensive). Little did I know. Left me with some resentment. I think a better move would be to sample out the pastries about to expire to customer in the store at random. Then recently I learned businesses "donate" foods to banks and earn tax breaks on that! So it's not even about altruism anyway.
Years ago, Starbucks shifted to smaller stores and higher volume. Now there are too many no-frills drive-through only competitors nipping at their heels. Their CEO is rightfully pivoting back to a premium coffeehouse experience as a differentiator. I for one, will welcome the change.
Once upon a time, I used to enjoy going to and hanging out at my local Starbucks. Business was regular, the atmosphere was calm and conducive to reading, studying, or casual conversation. The prices were fairly reasonable, the selection and quality of food was good, and the Staff were friendly. Then it all began to change, and I quit going to Starbucks. I go other places where they provide all the qualities Starbucks used to have. Now, I don't set foot in a Starbucks unless I can't find any other option..
The top of the corporation is taking so much in pay and other compensation that the bottom is not able to survive. How many billions do billionaires really need. If they cut prices they would still make lots of money. It always irritates me when the billionaires complain that the workers are taking too much. It also is irritating that the upper management accuse the workers for shoddy work and safety culture when the managers cut safety and processes to skim off money for themselves.
If you want to remind people why they loved Starbucks, return to your roots. Good coffee and food, a company that pays its baristas a fair and competitive wage and lower the prices back to a reasonable level for the product we’re buying. That’s what create the coffee shop vibe. Otherwise I will always go out of my way to support the local coffee shops that do all of the above.
I've never liked starbucks coffee to begin with. It tasted bitter and burnt to me. Even with sugar! So I've never bought the coffee out of my own accord. Prices are high also. Mix that with the quality of coffee... It's not worth the money. Smaller coffee businesses usually have better coffee for similar prices. Personally i prefer randeez coffee. All their coffee is fantastic tasting and worth every penny.
That CEO is not even moving to Seattle! He negotiated his $30M per year contract so he can stay at home in California and after this recent directive Starbucks say they may set up an office there just for him with an executive assistant - to get around the work from office mandat ehe introduced himself!
Far too expensive. Over the years, the cup sizes got smaller and the price tag got higher. During my working years, my staff and I consumed two, sometimes three, coffees a day. Special coffees and Americanos. Bought an Evo and it paid for itself in ten months. Never going back to Starbucks.
Its the McDonald's of coffee places, its anything but actual coffee.... Maybe they should close 1 of 3 stores on the same block. It would be nice to see competition and actually have another option.
I mean, they're just doing their jobs. But corporate forcing this and forcing workers to smile more...got to draw the line somewhere and say this is just too much. Back to the basics.
Starbucks should start selling organic fruit. We buy the fruit, and the employees make it into juice. I'd go into a drink store for that. Extra points if we can buy the cut up fruit in a bowl. Boiled eggs 🥚 Quinoa, avocado, tofu (or chicken breast) bowls. Turkey legs Baked chicken drumsticks. Starbucks could make a comeback if it becomes a lunch spot with their coffee as dessert. After all, Starbucks coffee is already dessert.
I stopped going years ago on a regular basis, only time I go is when i travel and that's my only option at the time. Living in the PNW there are too many other options that offer better coffee and service. Starbucks is a stale corporation , not even close to what it used to be in the late 70's and 80's...no going back to that.
Are there any other coffee places with good dark roasts ? Hard to beat their Verona, Italian or French roasts. Their Pike roast doesn’t even taste like coffee it’s so weak !
Are you serious? Their time is OVER. There are many better places…much better coffee, pastries that are flaky and tasty, as opposed to cakey and bland. I have become accustomed, as a grey haired older woman, to understanding that no one will talk to me…over 35,:you’re dead…..but that’s not Starbucks’ fault. I have cut way back on coffee outings…not worth the expenditure.

LOWER YOUR PRICES I stopped going because it's TOO EXPENSIVE!
Just make more money then
@@notanindianscammer7594 You must be one of the bedraggled bums that sleep there !
Not happening they literally just tried that
@@notanindianscammer7594 yeah I'll just do that thanks
Too expensive.
Overpriced and lousy coffee.
Cup of tea=$4.30/Egg bites=$5.45….you can keep em!

To be fair you could have used one of the restrooms at the mall
@@notanindianscammer7594 yeah right, state law to have a restroom in a restaurant
The pastry quality declined badly over the years.
Easier to give to food banks lol

Coffee has gotten too expensive. Much cheaper to make at home!
Over roasted overpriced and burnt coffee tastes like s*** so you tell me why their sales have dropped
And some of their stores are just downright dirty

High prices, low pay and CEO’s make bank. If corporations are making bank and common people struggling to live. Boycott. Boycott. Boycott

It’s going to take more than a slogan to put Starbucks back in the running. Lower prices…Lower prices.
The reason I’m avoiding Starbucks is the new CEO!
Lol what strategy? Just make the decent coffee
keep those coffee fiends from blocking Traffic
My local coffee shop doesn’t make me beg for straws every visit
exactly

It’s not really coffee
It’s desert
Greediness Then blame the employees for the customers not wanting to support the drug dealing evil corporations
Drug dealing corporations? You need to lay off the conspiracy theory videos
They started to make less offers nahhhhh im not going
They really need to create a cup for men experiencing pregnancy
It's too expensive and they need to bring back the eggnog latte. It's been 4 years!
In Salt Lake City we have Java Joe's, and they have eggnog latte, at least some years.
Don't make contributions to organizations like Project 2025. That's why I stopped.
They just need to lower their prices. That’s all.
And get better coffee. They need to stop getting unripe coffee beans. That's what causes bitterness.
Just let workers Unionize!! Unionize!! Unionize!! Start treating workers and customers like humans.
There is an important place for a neighborhood social space that isn't about alcohol.
finally people are waking up to less expensive alternatives. coffee house culture? what obnoxious college kids hogging all the tables?
Staffing "partners", give them their union.
It is an occasional indulgence, not a daily item.

Randeez is overpriced and overhyped, it's actually a little bit worse than Starbucks.
It’s a overpriced cup of coffee
to start..the drinks needs to be faster...the lines are so long

I walk in and unbeknownst to me there’s 40 orders in front of me and only 2 people in the store
No one can afford to spend $8 on a cup of coffee any longer. Ive been a dutch bro fan for years now. Better coffee, better price and more fun.
Try this...When you walk in say loudly and sarcastically "WELCOME IN" before they do lol

Yeah , but I walked across the parking lot and got a good cup for $.85.
