Kept my original 2070 for 6 years before upgrading to a 4080. EVGA made my version, and it overclocked really on air alone. Combination with DLSS and I could play any game I wanted just fine.
The amazon listing for the Cooler Master 850 watt psu at 7:23 with 5090 compatibilty says "Output Wattage: 800 watts" and directly under that says "Wattage: 50 watts." My favorite 850 watt psu's are the 800 watt ones that are also 50 watts at the same time.
@@bismuth7730 I've never seen a psu advertise the internal power it uses on the label. They only say "eco" or "green" or "high efficiency" or whatever. That wattage spec had to have been a mistake which isn't unheard of in an amazon listing.
Do you think they can even keep up with demand? The last card I got was a 3080 during the chip shortage. Were the 4090 cards 100% available on release?

2060 super here, was planning on getting a RTX 5090 first before eventually building the rest but if it's cut down I don't really like that, sorta hope they release the titan first in that case.

GPU'S and CPU's got to a point where power consume got extremely high, and not much left to be pushed in terms of hardware for regular home consumers. This will slowly lead gamers and the rest, being pushed towards cloud subscription, where higher tech can be integrated on servers. Servers with 10-100 times more performance than we we have right now, without the need of owning a crazy graphic card, but a monthly sub usage. GPU's for regular consumers will slowly die. Is like mining crypto, with nothing in return but a nice and juicy electric bill.

Everyone was happy 4080 super was launched at 1000...only reason they did that was because the 5080 will launch at 12-1300. They didnt want to lower the price of the last gen to much and gave us a bait and switch. we will get 30% more powerful 80 series for 30% more money. It seems Nvidia has hit a packaging and thermal limit which may make RTX 5000 impossible to fab at original spec. My guess is they end up under clocking everything via software in order to avoid launch failure. Enthusiasts will then be forced to take on any over locking at their own risk with extreme cooling and even then will likely fry their cards in short order. Nvidia can't engineer it's way out of this one
They always have explanation regarding their delays and the shortage of video cards on the market... which increase the price of video cards etc. How many years have they been doing that ? to be honest I don't give a damn about 5090, I can't afford to buy a 4090 anyway so it's not like I'm planning to buy a +2500$ video card.

Personally, I think AMD is good with CPU's but my 7900xtx has been a huge disappointment with driver timeouts every other day. Nothing like getting as far as you've been in a game to all of a sudden a crash from a driver timeout. My 6950xt was pretty good and I never really experienced what I do with my xtx. With that being said I can't wait for the 5090

It is reasonable for a PSU of that power to use 50W to transform 110/220AC to DC

With the delays till 2025 due to rumored design flaw at this point no one knows for certain.
The 5090 should be at least $3000 but if there’s a delay and shortage then I believe $5000 is a fair price
