One of the biggest reasons i dont use twitch is the ads. They dont even let me check streamers out for a few minutes before blasting me with minute or longer unskippable ads
Haven’t went to twitch for probably two years now because of this reason
Yeah that's why I never watch without a working adblock
I don't mind a quick 15 second ad once an hour, but advertisements everytime I change streams is so shit. Does Twitch not realize that spraying an ad everytime you open a new stream actually hinders growth for channels? Personally it makes me not want to check out a new streamer when I know I have to sit through ads for content that I might not even like once I start watching.

there are 2 rules I always follow no matter what when using twitch.
1. I never donate through twitch, always on third party sites
2. I always watch with Adblock

honestly idk if this is a heavy glaze, but I think chat underestimates how intelligent x actually is. whether it's just chat trolling & being sarcastic, or chat genuinely being being braindead, a very large amount of the shit he says is honestly just completely true or atleast up for debate in a way that favours both sides of the argument. mostly w the poki comment near the end aswell, I have never really watched a poki stream, but when I think of streamers that stay out of trouble and really take a heavy pr approach, i'd 100% think of her. so when she goes 4 years without a notable incident, she's not going to be treated harshly because it is clearly a rare mistake. this is why if you make 1 mistake at a job, you will not be judged but when you make 7 mistakes in 1 day of work, you're going to be looked down upon. and then if you show up for the next 2 weeks consistantly making those mistakes, of course your job security and ability to perform the job will come into question. this is such a basic concept, and it amazes me that people cant grasp it.
The difference between X and his chat is that he now has life experience and has made enough screw ups in his own career to learn from them. I'm much older than X and when I look back, I say you're basically a baby until about 25. X is past that.
Intelligence is subjective. For example, if you look at how good he is at solving puzzles, he looks like the dumbest person in the world. But that doesn't mean he's stupid. Everyone is unique in their own way, with their strengths and weaknesses. Someone who can't do math would be called stupid, but what if he invented a new formula that would make it easier for others to do math? Would he be more intelligent, even though he can't do math?
no, we know hes smart. english isnt his first language and he makes mistakes because of that. we make fun of him for that because its low hanging fruit.

It’s simple: Twitch got lucky with first mover’s advantage. They have always been thoroughly incompetent from developing of their site to community moderation and PR, and now that the big players are catching up and passing them on these fronts, they are paying for years of under serving the market they once had monopoly over.

I gave up on twitch. Looking back it was the ads. They grew away from what made it special and turned it into a full cash grab. The magic is lost
If I enter a person channel on Twitch and an ad immediately starts I leave.
I never EVER sit through an ad UNLESS I was already watching.
I just leave and almost always leave Twitch completely.

At this point with how much he carried for 5 fucking years it wouldn't surprise me if he got equities or some sort of part ownership. That's how it works in the start-up space for any other job so I don't see what would make it different for Twitch and their most performing streamers who are building the company.
