Fun Fact: Twice in the 1980s the Rose Bowl was a rematch from the regular season. And in both instances, the team that won the regular season game also won the rematch on New Year's Day.
Fun facts.. Steve Smith the Michigan quarterback that year. Separated his shoulder in that game Rose bowl. In the first quarter, hard-hit by Don Rogers. Cost Michigan any chance of winning
The other rematch was Michigan State's 20-17 win in the '88 game over USC, which followed Sparty's 27-13 win in East Lansing to open the 1987 campaign.
Paul McGuire, the commentator, at the end of the game is blasting Bo for being on the field (just maybe five yards on the field) arguing a referee call 😂 how many times does that happen in football now🤔. So maybe Bo started a trend 😂😂
The way it used to be.
That's awesome do you have the 1982 Michigan-Notre Dame game?
No I don't have that game. I was able to find the first half on UA-cam. ua-cam.com/video/E9dKk5rqnZY/v-deo.html
Ive heard Donahue and Bo didnt get along too good. Donahue would get another win over Bo in about 3 more months in THE rose bowl. I think they were 2-2 against each other overall.
Can you upload the full intro to ESPN SportsCenter from 1982?👍
Can you upload the full episode of ESPN SportsCenter from 1982, including commercials?👍
Sorry my copy does not have commercials. A few of the spots where there was just a couple seconds of commercials I cut, but my version has most commercials cut.
Stanford was down 13 against Ohio State and came back to beat Ohio State 20 to 13. A very good day for the PAC 10 and a very bad day for the BIG 10. GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!
Back in those days the pac10 ate the big10 for lunch. I'm gonna miss the pac12 and all those rivalries. So sad.
Probably the best UCLA team since their national title team from the what, 1950s or whenever? Only lost by 3 at Washington and rallied to tie AZ at home......a dangerous AZ team that year who won in south bend and ended ASU's rose bowl hopes with a 28-18 blowout.
Terry Donahue is the best coach UCLA ever had
Ucla has a great fight& it still california university school
Why do they not show UCLA's third touchdown? They didn't show it.
That's a good question. I believe at this time ESPN was broadcasting on tape delay, they must have edited it out for some reason.
