I have 7 Hobao, more Hobao in my fleet of 25 cars than any other brand. Universal parts. Lots of aluminium. Quality plastics. Strength. Durability. Reasonably priced. Can still buy parts for a 20 year old Hyper7. Agree they don’t know about marketing. Yes they used to look pretty bad. Not a single shell has ever fit properly or been easy to put on. Almost every engine has air leaks. Some of the 13 year old Chinese girls who are building these cars don’t care about camber caster or toe. They leave it for you to figure out. One day they might sort these issues out and that’s when the other brands who charge more are in trouble.
That shock problem is a nice easy fix. The ends of the shock stand offs are threaded so you can put a screw and a washer on the end to capture the shock end and hold it in place
Yeah, the shock issue got fixed on the day when I got home and it took 2 min. I probably could have fixed it at the track, but had other car to run and was running out of time. Hindsight is great after the fact. LoL.
A smooth operator, nice buggy . Looks like loads of potential. Great fist showing of this car . Fix the the shocks and bingo . Thanks for sharing Vas .
Yeah, just a couple of washers and 2 small screws fixed it. I may change out the tyres for the 6S run, I just don't have too much confidence the stock ones will hold.
I use Arrma SHOCK CAP PROTECTOR 6S AR330492, just use a Dremel to remove the inner plastic part. Then mount them on the front shocks with a screw. I bought spare parts directly from HoBao eshop, but the shipping price has gone some up after Covid. But I break few parts, the car is taking a lot of beating/bashing. Also I buy some spare parts from UK.
I'd been trying for a LONG time to get you to review a Hyper VS Vas, I'm glad, and I'm sure you have gotten around to it...i still have mine, and looking to make it a rocket very shortly
Would be interested of the weight of the hobao compared to the TLR typhon. Batteries wheels, No body.... ive been milling out the tlr chassis just to bring the weight down 3800 grams.
I really! Can’t wait for that then. I’m looking to get a super fast nimble and planted off road truggy and so far had in mind the HPI Vorza S, or the Hobao Hyper SSTe. But might now wait to see what the new Habso truggy is going to look like
My favourite brand-got an upgraded SSTE and a brushless ST Pro-the St pro is a truggy that handles like a buggy. Cheers for giving them some publicity, as already stated by someone else, they are badly under rated. When you look at the speed records they are dominated by Arrma, but Hobao are very close behind.
Ouyeah, that was a nice watch! I definitely want me one of these at some point! Bummer with the shocks popping out. I heard about it in other videos, but yours was just way unacceptable! Weird they haven't sent out a retrofit to prevent this from happening, should be simple enough, just change the screw, add a nut... But like you said, smooth...
Nice video. I very nearly bought a Hyper VS2 as its build quality is off the scale in comparison to the likes of a Typhon. A few things deterred me though - mainly the poor availability of Hobao spare parts and the not inconsiderable price. So I went for a Radix 6 instead when seeing a nice deal on it.
We have a distributor here that keeps most of the parts, but if I need anything in a hurry that they don't have, I can actually buy from HoBaoShop direct and deliver only takes a week or so. I did an order about a month or 2 ago and I was surprised how quick it got to me. Price is not much of an issue when compared to brands like ARRMA and Traxxas, so it's all very similar, TBH. But I understand that this may vary in different parts of the world.
Lots of buggy guys rave about the VS2.. can see why. Sweetheart on 4s. What about doing a buggy comparison vid using control tyres Vas? I know I'd froth over the idea.
Hobao the most underrated but one of the best out there I just wish their parts were easier to get in the uk
Not to bad buy online,I got in under a week. And parts are cheap. I’m racing mind so I just ordered 2 of everything for spare to have on hand.

You know what you just did? You made me check this out....and now I need to buy it.....Thanks 😂
Absolutely love Hobao's, most under rated cars out there. I have 6 different Hobao cars.
Haha... I've only got 5.!

A similar stand off (without washer has) has the Inferno.
My VSE V1 did that all the time on the front shocks. Just put a screw with a flat washer on them and solved the problem 👍
Such an underrated brand in Australia.
Totally. I have 6 hyper7 buggies, 3 i have converted to brushless.
So strong, great bashers for our backyard track.
Respectfully, I believe underrated everywhere.

Thanks Alan. Shock issue is all fixed, took 2min to sort out. Excited to take out again and on 6S. 😁
@@AussieRCPlayground , great news . Oversized washers ? . Will be a beast on 6S .

superb buggy from Hobao. I use it for bashing and also race on track.

Such a nice buggy, i shouldnt look . Really nice running car.
I heard they're working on another truggy. You better get that one when it comes out

Meanwhile the sste handles like a tank. This truggy really needs a ne version with better handling
@@PaddyPatrone Just needs setting up properly-decent servo, tighten servo saver and correct camber and toe.

I order 2 of everything on line cheap. And got to New Zealand in under a week

Yes they are!
Sehr nice 👍🏻😍

Great idea, thank you. I may just do that. :)
Yeah a washer will fix that probably. Let’s see that buggy on 6s!
Damn not good on a 1/8
What do you mean?
@@AsurasWrath164 great car and all just ashame it’s got no screw behind the ball end
Took me 2 min to fix. It's really a nothing issue. There's far worse problems in cars out there then something this easy and simple to fix.
@@AussieRCPlayground agree, something like this is like it doesn't exist. Solved in an instant.
Yep simple fix with 2 m3 screws & flat washers, shocks will never come off again.
