Somewhere in the galaxy, Peter Frampton is feeling a disturbance in the force.
Underrated comment!
Yes, yes... (wait for it) ...YES! I feel like he does.
This should be used more in modern rock, peeps keep forgetting what made rock great. Heavy guitar solos, great drum solos and yes above all vocals
thomas raggi uses this on the song "mark chapmann" it's really cool
Quite possibly the funniest and best gear review I have EVER SEEN! Top work.
I use this exact same pedal by Rocktron. It’s one of my favorite pedals for it’s ease of use, accuracy, and smooth transitions during recordings. If you really wanna get crazy, combine other pedals in your pedal firing line! Keep in mind that you don’t need to project actual vocal sounds when you’re up on the microphone, especially when you are recording, because it’ll pick up your vocals in the recording or live performances. Let your guitar do the talking for you! Have fun!
The talkbox is literally one of the most awkward looking things to use in existence lol. It's like you're prepped for surgery but need to jam out one last time in case things go wrong 😂🤣
Lmao hahahahahaha
😂😂😂🤘
Omgs...🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's an epic description! Made me laugh hard.
teethist wanted lol, en france on dit "recherche dentiste"
These are fun . Your tone as always sounds great and by adding different effects like delay etc ... you get lots of tonal options .
I love this video! Haha I like her authenticity
Getting one next week! Can't wait to hear what I can do!! You sound great!
Wow I'm impressed not only are you great looking but also a great guitar player, l'm new to the guitar some three years and l hope lm able to play as well as you in the future, keep up the videos xx
tubbo just started watching this hello tubbo veiwiers
I'm literally here from Tubbo's stream because I wanted to see how many comments there were about Tubbo
I remember when Frampton used one... What a GREAT friggin' concert that was!!!! Yeah there were several bands "back in the day" that used them. Great sounds from the past, maybe they'll make a come back again, who knows. Thanks for the great video and bringing back some good memories!!!
I need one! Great demo! 🤘Keep Rockn🤘
02:12 "This is peculiar!" Lol. Lots of funny comments Sophie! A real entertaining video to watch, and of course you were killing it with that thing as soon as you started playing! I bet you'd slay all the songs from "Frampton Comes Alive." That was the first time I'd ever heard a talkbox on record.
Your talented and funny. I love watching your vids
you are awesome! amazing guitarist, love Your videos. keep on rocking!!! greatings from Norway.
Haven't laughed at a guitar video... Hilarious 😂 😂😂❤️
I do this with the speaker on my phone all the time 😂
Oh my god I thought I was the only one!!!! Hahahahah
I do that to lol
Same! :D
Same lol
you can tape a wide straw that covers your speakers and it'll feel like a real one
plain and simple you are so awesome a buddy of mine back in the 80s he played in the band next door to me and I heard this sound it was him playing the same sound of what you've got but he made it so much easier by hand and electronics
you are amazing. great video. keep them coming
Congratulations for your work!
Too much fun Sophie! Thank you for sharing your talent and sense of humor with us all
There's a banshee 2 with an interesting feature: you can keep your regular guitar signal in tact while also using the talk box. I sometimes use this to combine the sounds of my wah pedal lead tone with the talk box tone. Fun stuff... 👍
I've been wanting to get a Talkbox for a long time, been a guitar player for thirty years. But I don't want the fuzz distorted sound with it. I like the clean sound.like Zapp and Roger. Could I get that clean sound with my guitar while using my guitar,
@@anthonyrodriguez2382 yes
@@ronnibrant5813 thank you for responding.i will definitely be picking up the banshee 2
You're a natural with that! More please!
Am I the only one who notices her video is a bit laggy?
Yeah
Jr Reyes note how the op said ‘video’ the sound is fine... moron.
@@ryanboshell6124 30 frames apparently
I really don't care the FPS since she keep sucking the hose.
@@yankleber Lol. Yeah me too
love your sense of humor :D I'm feeling that you are starting to feel more comfortable with every video ( and I know its hard to be yourself in front of camera its like beeing charismatic with talking to yourself :D kinda weird feeling at the begining )
We here after that hopelessly devoted to you TikTok working out what a talkbox is 😙
Omg, I was hoping I was alone in that for some reason xD
Yeseree 🤣
Yes ser!
BRUH ME
Damn straight
YOU ARE FANTASTIC KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
The well placed horn of the profanity 😂😂 good stuff. Your unboxing reviews are great too
It’s much more fun watching her use the voice box than Joe Walsh.
Great explanation of the product, Blondes do have more fun! Back in the 80’s I had the original Jim’s Bean Talk Box I used it on the John Miles song Slow Down! I mean the band I played in we done a cover of this song, plus obviously the Frampton stuff. Great memories, I still have it in a retired fx case in my loft along with Boss ME 5 and some original Electro Harmonix stuff, must check them out see if they still work. Thank you for this video brought back nice memories.
Awesome I just unboxed that talk box as well. Awesome video new sub here
Cool video! Thanks for sharing!
3:57 Surprised the tube didn't straighten into a mic stand. 😄
Let's all be adults here says Sophie, proceeds to create her own jokes.
She says lets all be adults here...then proceeds to say she likes it in her mouth...and laughs, lol. Let's face it...there's no elegant way to use one of those things - it just lends itself to jokes. All good fun.
amazing how good she is playing something right out of the box
They are so cool!
Sophia . You are wow on the guitar your hammer on pull off tapping and slides. Please do some more originals
Loved loved bulletproof but all your stuff is awesome.
HEY TUBBOO
That looks so fun! I need to get me one!
Funny as hell but it actually was informative too. Thanks. 🤣
hello tubbo fans
I wish I hadn’t had that large glass of JD.
You just re-inspired me 2wo dig out me old talk box, Thank You Sophie !!!!!
I just found your channel but i cant wait to see more this this trippy thing
On the Banshee, you'll end up finding out that the final setup and best "TALKING" sounds will happen like this. If you are a proper singer, your talk box will not be nearly as hot as your vocals.....so, use a clean preamp before the talk box. Just leave the box and the preamp on and use an A/B pedal to turn on the whole signal with one switch instead of two. Keep the tone knob pretty low and the gain know WAY down. The compression driver in there distorts very easily on its own. Speech doesn't have any distortion on it and to make the talk box get those classic sounds, more gain is just garbling up the sound. Your BEST vocal sounds come in the middle "E" octave.....as in the song "Mind Bender". Keep the tube between your teeth. Have fun.
Meanwhile I'm here using my phone and a straw.
@@CrapZackGames lol, okay.

"Sh*t on it"! somebody's been watching Friday Night Dinner? lol
it looks funny and fun!
Sophie I never knew that the sound came out of the tube. I guess thats why people talk about a vibration when using it. Cool video. I have watched some of your videos and must say you are a very accomplished guitarist.
"It's not funny!"
(Giggles and guffaws)
6:16 Livin' on a prayer ! 😂😂😂
Nekyo Kusai
She's not playing it quite right.
I leave this comment at your BJ cover. Talk box is essential for this song. Most covers don't know how to use - play with that box. So very nice. Rock on!
Ok so I only ended up here cuz I got a guide in front of me to build one of these and damn did you make that look fun. I'ma build it.
"I am a sucking robot."
The talkbox did remind me from The big hit from Peter Frampton “Do you feel like we do” ✌️🎸
Sophie, you are so awesome on so many levels!!

Yes
Nice review! Yes, talk boxes can be fun! I have the Banshee 2, and it's great. Two words of warning, though. When using live, 1.) make sure you have a microphone cover on the mic. At one club, I stepped up to play talk box, and POW! Electric shock right on my lip! Unfortunately the song had already started, and I played talk box through the entire song. That was a very painful three and a half minutes! And 2.) make sure you turn your tuning pedal off before you start the song where you will be playing your talk box. I "air talk-boxed" an entire song, assuming that I just couldn't hear myself on the talk box through the monitors, but thinking it was going out through the mains. Only to look down after the song was over to see that my tuning pedal was still on and was muting my guitar signal the entire time. Oops!!
If you are ever bored and in a place that happens to have a Touchtunes Jukebox on the wall, you can hear my old band's song with me on the talk box. We won a Touchtunes band contest, and our song got chosen, and it is still on Touchtunes Jukeboxes to this day! (At least in the United States. Not sure about elsewhere.) That is, whenever we can all go back to bars/music clubs again! The band was called Waiting For One, and the song is called Shake Box. Enjoy!
Thanks for all the great videos! Rock on!!
Sophie! You are a genius! Perhaps the premier guitarist on planet! Stay the course!
That opening of the box, so brilliant. "Shit-on it" is not something I've heard for a looong time and that's as a fellow sweary Brit
The whole video is the most fun I've watched in a while. Your amazing.
I find I have adopted a lot of British phrases into my everyday language (I watch a lot of British videos.) Like calling things "lovely" or "the shops." That's all I can think of at the moment. It happens more when I'm listening to someone British. My grandfather was from Britain so it is in my blood too. I'm also Irish on both sides so I have more than a couple diagnosed mental illnesses.
Sophie innocently knows what’s she’s doing.
she can hum master of puppets on my "talk box" anytime
Talkboxes are fun!
I like how she says that we need to be mature about this, then wraps the hose around her neck and calls it a fashion accessary!
Pretty cool. Now I want one of each🤘😜
Your a riot. Thanks for The video.
Back in the early 90s we took a very small pratice amp with distortion taped a beer bong over the speaker and used the beer bong hose in my mouth and it worked very well lol for what it was
Back in the 80s, I took a small amp and made small cuts into the speaker for a fuzzier sound. Screwed on a large plastic funnel on the front with many tries to get the bloody thing on. Duct tape worked best. Plumbers putty and a short garden hose to finish it off. Man, those few days playing with that contraption was awesome. Alas, the cuts in the speaker kept getting bigger and the sound faded into crap. Great memory!
Rock on Sophie!
You rock it as always, I’ve wanted to build one of those for a long time, never got around to it, looks like a great option, and you make it look hot to boot. 🎤🎸🔥
Gonna tell you right now. You are NOT a stupid guitarist! You rock! Never stop exploring. And this is the best video. Cuz someone explained the voice box to me years ago. But watching you do this is EPIC!
SIIIIIIIIMPPP
This is awesome👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Who else came from tubbos stream?
She’s really talented and ridiculously pretty... a step above us mere mortals
yikes
Someone’s desperate
I love Frampton and used a talk box in the mid-late 70s. Mine was hooked up so I could still hear my amp on stage and the talk-box (of course), came through the vocal monitor. Also did some Jeff Beck Group stuff and Rocky Mountain Way.
So..many..jokes...must...resist.🤣🤣🤣🤣
ah yes tubbo viewers have raided i knew it hello
I'm Brazilian and I don't understand anything she talks about but I still watch kkkkkk
So cool 🔥
So many “that’s what she said” moments
😂
Love the accent
You're like a kid in a candy store. Maybe shred "Do You Feel Like We Do" by Frampton.
Thought that was an mgmt reference
SortieUAS that’s what I kept hoping for. Instead was like listening to a six year old try to figure out her toy works
I think the guys at Buck Dancers Chiice here in Portland Maine also may have the ability to build them. Back when I got interested, it was explained to me that they were just sort of JB welding a tube into a secondary amplifier routed with a mono cable from the external send and return in any classic tube amp with the modern day effect send and return loops I’m also a guitar player and I started studying guitar when I was 10. My aunt showed me my first cords they were you know just of your classic ADGE, chords and I got into a pretty ferocious car accident when I was 21 I believe and that’s when I started going full full on into the Reason programming and ambient drum creations and stuff. You have a really nice accent just so you understand what I think. Is you know as a guitar player and as a shredder who’s had to heal from guitar accidents and shit I love original composition skies like Yengie. Guys like Satriani always wanted them to take it to the next level to get evil you know what I’m saying because I’ve always been this extremely evil nomad sitting alone in the winter of Maine, which is all the way north of New York City obviously, you probably know where this is, the cops here suck so it’s kind of hard to get the band stuff started off, especially in the suburbs and no offense to the statesman but they’re pretty much the most racist state left in the United States and they are pretty much junkies. That’s what they’re covering up and they don’t fool me. I talk back to them every single day accordingly you know you’re totally totally blowing mind as a female shredder. as a lyricist, it’s funny I actually Discover screaming by getting pissed off with the patriot act because I can sense when the cops are entering my Wi-Fi router and my microphones and so getting into the serial killer case which was just wrapped up not substantially sort of half assed the Long Island serial killer I actually worked with one of the victims mothers, and I remember, discovering that I am a screamer basically after opening up my vocals at the police, and basically at the Montauk area of New York City, which is the very tip of Long Island, which I had foreseen you know to be in the perfect spot to torture hookers. It’s a close down military base that has open basements where you can like chain on and you know, and Hankoff and you know pretty much towards and get away with what you want which is why I don’t believe them when they say they’ve got this pizza box you know and whatever else but yeah I’m a singer and I left some really rude lyrics with Dying Fetus just to keep promoting their new record make them beg for death and man was that such a fun show to just make I just made it and it was just so much fun but yeah, that’s my chief complaint is all this drop D bullshit, you know and I’m straight up evil compared to these nerd pigs
It looks so funny. Sorry I can't stop my laugh.

@Sophie Lloyd Hi sophie! I'm in love with your guitar. Can you please share link as to where I can buy the same electric guitar that you have?
But where do you plug the mic into ? A guitar amp ? And do you put distortion pedals before the talk box ?
Watch out boys, she's more than just beauty, brains, and talent... she's intuitive as well.
Thanks again UA-cam, you never fail to fill my evenings with weird shit
Yeah, that was cool and interesting. Now I know how they make some of them strange sounds.
Thanks so much for sharing. 😎👌🏼
BTW, love your accent.
As soon as Sophie said lets be grown up, she just could help the innuendos. worse than bake off, really, did almost wet myself laughing
The best UA-cam video I have ever watched and what a lucky tube.
I'm never going to be the same.
Love my banshee! It’s fun to experiment with. BTW ‘86 is a bit late, Frampton was using one in the 70’s and the talk box has been around since 1939
We DEMAND a Frampton cover! Just remember, you started it!
Peter Frampton called he wants his talk box back.
They allready stole his pig and fridge
"its very long so you can have it from the floor all the way to your mouth" - why thank you haha
I have the Rocktron 2. DEFINITELY clean the tube if you don't you use it after a while, or you might get a little sick. It's a fun toy!
Love the English accent cheers from Canada
Sophie, there was no way you could make a video like this without a few innuendos slipping in. See, even I couldn’t make a comment without making one. Such is life.🙂 Great video by the way. Take it easy.🤘🏻💯
