And a very merry Christmas to All! I would like to let you all know that I'm 62 years old and I am truly to old to grow up I have been building scale model kits for some 55 years and loving the skills that I have learned over the years! But I do so love to learn more and more, some of you guys have kept me going and I thank you so thank you! This video is just so very helpful as so many others 🇺🇸

Hello Stu, Merry Christmas from across the pond. It was really an excellent year for watching your videos and getting ideas. Your building plans for 2024, especially the truck look like excellent projects, I might even trace down the truck myself as it looks like a fun build and I started with AMT cars as my first kits. I did get carried away with some Black Friday sales and my stash now " runneth over". As such, my build schedule for 2024 is a bit skewed, however there main builds came from Airfix Black Friday the 1/72 Vulcan - a huge kit, the 1/48 Hawker Hunter - flying under Tower Bridge and the 1/48 F86. I've still got my Lancs, acquired 1/48 JU 52, and He 111 plus 172 Condor if I get through all of those I'll be a Happy Modeler. Your Lancaster ideas sound great. I'm looking forward to watching your videos in 2024, for an excellent source of motivation and creativity. Happy New Year Year, Cheers, Bob

I’m especially looking forward to your build of the Dorcester. A few other ModelTubers have built it and I can’t wait to see your take on it. As you said the interior is easily visible, and adding maps and whatnot can really make it look lived in.
The Ehrhardt armored car is another one that I will be looking forward to. There’s just something about the “We don’t really know what we’re doing yet but we’re trying” era of armor that tickles me.
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year.

The Coca Cola pickup has all the parts from the original (read: old) release when it was packaged with a trailer to haul a racecar, hence the tools, welding tanks, etc.
The two engines are complete and the Desoto hemi engine is really quite lovely. Install the flathead and keep the hemi for another build. The whitewall tires are new as are the wheeler and vending machine.
I agree with you on the Dorchester -- there's an awful lot going on in it. Where do you stop?
Beware of the Tyrrell's tires. They are semi-pneumaric when fitted to the wheels so they are soft but that centre seam is really difficult to remove. The good news is that Tamiya have added metal and etched detail parts so it has been largely redesigned and cleaned up, though only Stewart's markings are included.
An ambitious program -- looking forward to your progress.

The Lancaster builds are deffo on my radar! The grand slam conversion is especially intriguing! The AMT truck is also different and wilk hopefully be fun too! Good list of projects with a nice choice of subjects. I like the pick of the Ford Coca-Cola pickup, which I've always thought was cute; I wonder if the Cokes in the vending machine are a dime apiece. I like your idea with the Lancasters as well; I made both the Airfix and the Revell kits back in the day, but never the Dambusters version. I always thought the Airfix kit was better overall.

I couldn't tell from the video, did you anneal the photo etch parts before bending them?

For which kit? The Leopold? No - it was a long time ago and I didn't know about the technique then! :)

@@ModelNerd The Prince of Wales, the turret railings. I think if you anneal those railings they will hold shape and not fly off. Just wear a respirator and work in a well-ventilated area if they have any super glue on them when you anneal.

Ah, got you. Yes, that's a really good point, thank you. I will have to give that a go.

I wish I had built a 1/32 Spitfire now rather than the 1/24 version. There are far more options in 1/32.

    Nothing in 1:48 armor.

Yes, 1/48 isn't a scale I really build armour in - I tend to prefer 1/35. I'm not sure why really, given the potential for aircraft-armour combinations in 1/48.
