It's okay not to know what the next step should be especially career wise. Some of us were told what to do and we had to transition from one career to another when we got older and got to know our personalities and passions better. It's okay sometimes to get lost and take time to figure it out. Let's normalise that rather than pressuring kids that are in form 4 that they must have figured it all out. That's why in our generation we have many people hating what they do but they still have to make ends meet. Sure she needs a mentor but saying you're shocked that she hasn't figured her next career move is just putting pressure on people.
Secondly, there are people who study music and it becomes their career. We've seen Kenyans being given scholarships to go to music schools in western countries and they earn from it. Sauti sol are best examples of music entrepreneurs and are even earning more than us who are in the 9-5. Talent can be monetised. Hobbies can be monetised. Aren't people doing it out here?
My advise would be, yes get a mentor but who'll help her understand her skills, passions, personality etc better so that what she chooses to do will be compatible.
