You are my go-to smart-home expert. We bought a home in December, and with your help, I have upgraded the Smoke Detectors, Door Locks, Thermostat, and Doorbell. I keep watching your videos about security cameras over and over again... trying to make a decision. Today is the first day of Spring. I will need to figure out the sprinkler system pretty soon. When I went to check out the control panel, the door fell off, the knob and inner panel fell off, and the insides are full of 25 years of dust and grime (similar to my Smoke Detector experience). Your unboxing, installation, and setup videos give me the information I need to make a purchase decision and the confidence to complete the installation. Many other channels have endless chatter than contributes nothing valuable. Thank you. You do excellent work that makes a direct and positive impact on my family.
Wonderful video I loved it. Explanations were clear you showed how everything works and I think I want to buy a beehive. Thank you so much great information.
Hi, thank you very much for helping me with your nice video ! May ask you one question please: I need to switch on a pump that increases the water pressure each time any of the zone,, could you please tell me how to do this when using the Ofbit 94546 timer. ? Thank you
nice review - did you have any issues connecting to wifi? seeing alot of Amazon reviews of problems with wifi never connecting or constantly disconnecting - thanks
Damn, looks heavy. I was contemplating using adhesive squares, but this looks too bulky. Not eve sure I can use existing screw(s) when remove old timer. Would the high quality adhesive hooks you can use for paintings be sufficient? I do like the manual control option since so many people report wi-fi problems. With Rachio about all you do manually is turn off and on --- no scheduling.
So after you select the Orbit network and set up, then do you need to go back and reset to ISP network? Do you ever need to go back to Orbit network? Thanks.
What do you mean go through zones 4 times? Is it going to sprinkle EACH zone four times?! If you water each zone four times, can you set that manually as well? Thanks.
It says to begin pairing process, tap Open Settings. I did not see you do that. Where and how do you tap open settings? Open settings is for Orbit not your ISP. Thanks.
I see you have been using this for a couple of years now, how has the smart watering working out? any tips or advice that may help us out? I just got mine up and running and i'm confused on the moisture setting? What is the target moisture range the software is looking for? I purchased a moisture sensor but it doesn't readout in percentage just scale from 1 to 10 so it really doesn't correlate with the software.
If I have these units installed at 3 separate properties of mine and each unit is connected to a WiFi connection, can I control each unit separately via the app, if say I'm in Antarctica with cell phone data service?
Thanks for the video as it is well done. However, pitiful software with this device! There is NO product support and their "contact us" is a pathetic joke. We are sorry we purchased this device. Best of luck!
I purchased it and it was working fine. I canceled my internet package and I received a new router that’s when this system stopped working. I contacted the company and they said I needed to upgrade my router to the one I had at first. It started working properly til a few days after. I contacted them again and they said I needed to reboot the system, I did and it still didn’t work. So I purchased orbit’s basic sprinkler timer and I’m happy with it.
@@jeffzest8393 not sure but its been returned now and swapped for a more reliable brand unit, there is an issue with the app software that they just keep failing to update, three units later and lots of dead plants....was not worth the hassle
If the WiFi signal is lost while away from home can it be reestablished remotely through the app? Or do you have to manually hit the reset button then reconnect WiFi?

Best simple, effective video I have ever seen. Thank you!!
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the helpful video. My old Rain Bird controller quit after almost 20 years use. Decided to install this one as a replacement.

I totally laughed when you took the picture seeing that all the wires are all the same color 😂😂😂😂😂
Good review BTW.
Sold. Thanks for the review.
You are welcome.

You did the install so quick I could not see what you were doing! Is there just a tab you need to lift or do you have to get a screwdriver Thanks.
Well done, clear instructions. Thanks.
Thank you.
You're a fantastic presenter ✔️
Thank you. I appreciate it.
great video . im sold on it

No issues on mine.
Type of soil? What is proper selection for average neighborhood yard? Thanks.
Nice review. I am about to switch out my old timer for this. The specs indicate Google Assistant support, have you added this to Google Assistant?
Good review. Thank you!!
You are welcome.
Can you set up both manually and smart and toggle between the two if desired? Thanks.

Hi, Since you have installed this smart sprinkler system, are you happy with it or you would change to another brand?
I'm pretty happy with it. I had no major issues with it.
@@LifeHackster Thank you LifeHackster!
Very informative and well done.
Thank You.

Love this video
So you click on Orbit, it says connected, then you have to go back again and select your wi-fi network BEFORE you set it up? Thanks.
Hi, Where Is Gonna Be Connected The
Sprinkler Pump ???
After I removed Intermatic Timer
What I need to do ???
Thank a You.

I’m not using the smart watering. I still do the scheduling.
@@LifeHackster So you don't soak each zone 5 times? Or do you do that manually? Thanks.
Is it limited to 2.4? Thanks.
Thanks bro

Yes you can.
thank you!!
Can I control multiple timers with one application?
Hello! because my watch doesn't water automatically. only manual?
You have no wires connected to 24 volt section.
My only problem here is the power cable is way shorter than I need...
How come you are only allowed to water on Monday and Friday?? Is that an HOA thing ??
City thing
Has anyone tested the pump start function? I need the pump only for a few zones.
Thanks for the video as it is well done. However, pitiful software with this device! There is NO product support and their "contact us" is a pathetic joke. We are sorry we purchased this device. Best of luck!
Why is contact us pathetic? No phone number or just poor CSR's? Thanks.

Cannot see the Orbit Network on my Pixel 3A and in the Orbit I can only see the Bluetooth signal when I try to pair and I don't see any Wifi signal
I am having same issue, did you fixed the issue or still there
how do you wire the pump to the timer
What do you mean by that?
this item keeps disconnecting from wi-fi despite 5 bar wifi, second unit to do do, each time it requires a hard reset and re-setup again...painful
I’m actually been noticing this lately..I have to check and see what is causing it..
@@LifeHackster yes its very annoying, set up a separate access point solely for it, with 5 bar service, perhaps dodgy firmware
I see this so often, appears risky to have unit that is just Wi-Fi like Rachio?

@@dbhlandscaping-premiumdesi8408 What did you get instead? Rachio looks good, but do not know if want to rely on wifi only. What do you think? Thanks!
Don't forget to turn off the power!
Yup, I did. Just wasn't able to film it. Thanks for the heads up. :)
You mean unplug from wall? I did not see him plug in or set wires for new unit.
