This short video will introduce you to the adventure of building my own #NZEB ( Near Zero Emissions Building) cabin (chalet ) in an amazingly beautiful location that is also full of history and legends . In the valley between two wilde masives in Carphetians Mountains of Romania I bought a plot of land some years ago. My intention is to self build on this land everything I can from the access road, footings, walls , roof , insulation, interior decorations, all installations including ventilation with heat recovery system, etc.
I am using the advice of an architect , my creativity and the occasional help of a friend or two to create a modern interpretation of traditional houses that can be found in the area.
I am not a friend of concrete. I like #sustainable materials, I am the advocate of energy #efficiency and I have a "waste-phobia".
For me, timber ( lumber) is not only a building material, it is a dead tree and every dead tree is a marthyr so it imposes respect.
