Courtland used to have the largest automobile dealership in Arizona. I used to ride my dirt bike all over that area when I was stationed at Ft Huachuca.
Fellow Arizona explorer here- I usually just call BS on such signage and take my chances because it is BS. Sometimes even check property boundaries on a map and verify and find at times they are false or erroneous. Have yet to run into any issues.
Come up onto my claims and see how much BS my signage is. And welcome to being watched on hidden game cameras that I can watch right on my cell phone. The mines on my claims I don’t live on is heavily booby trapped so I welcome anyone going in them and trying to steal stuff or vandalize. 😊
Be careful out there Marty and Sightseeing Sally! It's not only the cacti that can poke your skin out there, some of the bushes have long and strong thorns on them. Hope you both are having a good time.
Been to those old ghost towns many times. You should follow the trail to Cochise, which is now a 'semi-ghost town'. In fact where I used to live. You can still rent rooms there in the old hotel. And if you are ambitious just hike about 4 miles straight west from there to abandoned gold mines. (Red Bird mts). Also-that Ghost Town Trail is a major smugglers/dope running route after dark, proceed accordingly. Good luck.
The four precisely placed wood planks stuck upright in the ground are grave markers for the four former occupants of the jail who died when someone forgot to feed and water them. To extract revenge, their relatives tore out the window bars and broke up the front doors and hauled them off and dumped them on the front yards of the people responsible for prisoner care who failed at their jobs.
Hello Sally thank you for the great video always great videos I believe the first building you were at was a Hooters back in the day LOL the four boards sticking out of the ground I would say maybe a graveyard thanks for the video Sally stay safe and healthy my friends ✌️🌺🏆👍✌️
😂 And we all know what happened to Hooters, just ask Marty hahaha. Thanks Duane, you, too. And, I think you read my mind, that's exactly what I thought they looked like!! ✌️🤠
As much as I hate the graffiti on these old ruins, I take some small consolation in the belief that, if it weren't for these ruins, those pathetic knuckleheads would be spray painting their idiotic tags on large natural rock formations, for all to see.
Alot of old towns were out in the middle of nowhere. So so many mimes and ghost town some.very large.alotbhas changed in the landscapes around these areas so we're not so sure what they looked like in tbe past. But yes many many small town, even some pretty large were way way out in the middle of nowhere. They set up where the mine was.
Sally, those flat cactus plants that were by that first foundation is the camels favorite food. I saw them in here someplace and it showed one just chewing away at some right in its mouth. Yuck. I just thought I would let you know that.
i saw this place earlier on another channel .but i am not sure you followed him or he followed you to explore this place . he use the same wordings and exploring tacts .
The jail looking building was the old Courtland Jail. The iron door and barred windows were pulled out by the county to use in the new Benson jail.
Thank you Sally! Thanks for trying. And thank you for taking us along. 2 thumbs up.
Thank you too
Great Adventure and I didn’t leave the couch. 😎🎉🥰. Thanks Sally
You’re very welcome Katie 🤩
Your videos are the best! We love you SightseeingSally and Marty! You do such an awesome job with your sightseeing!

Did you visit Naco in c. 1965? I recall it being like c. 1895, especially the bar-section of town

The town Charleston was used as a bombing practice site for World War II from Fort Huachuca
I just learned something new. Thanks for sharing!
That long concrete slab, could have been with the railroad depot.
I bet you're right!
Keep the Jail away in isolation brilliant 🤔 Happy Almost Wednesday everyone. Great job Sally and Marty. 👍🎮🎙😎
Now that I'm thinking about it, only if you're looking to make a fast get away lol. Thanks! Happy Wednesday 😁

Thanks! I love that shirt. Except, there's a rip in the seam and I don't sew, boohoo
@@SightseeingSally Ooh that's nice!
That one building, maybe a, “Taco Bell,” just kidding.
What gave it away, the abandoned bean dip? lol
I couldn't resist. That was really funny.
Woohoo new video!! Party with Marty!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳
If you've got a cold Hamm's Light, Marty will be right over lol 😂🥳
The 4 pieces of wood look to belong in "boothill"......but they are awfully close together......😮
Grrrreat!!!!
Thanks! I was kinda bummed about the wild goose chase, tho.
@@SightseeingSally it's all fun! Keep it going!

Hey Sally! Would love to go on the next adventure with you!
Maybe some of these dwellings are leftovers from a past reset? Seems odd to have had these out in the middle of desert with no population. IDK

Trust me modern day Arizona jails have a rank odor too
And Sally.....The Jail was in a really remote place! :)

That’s weirdly interesting lol
@@SightseeingSally I couldn't believe myself when I saw that one just chewing it while part of it was still sticking out of its mouth.
the wood could have been headstones...or head wood, as it may be
That’s what I thought!
The graffiti in there is honestly just pathetic
Possibly a cementary?
Intriguing
Gleason
I like "Nothing, Arizona"... Of course, the name says it all!
Those are all WATE A WHILE bushes..😂
A lot of people who crossed the mob, casino 'cheaters' and pretty much 'worthless' people are down in those holes.
Yes, and I hope to find Hoffa in one of them!
An Oubliette....theyve been around a long time...

People are stupid sometimes. Here in Holbrook az the petroglyph and people went over there and sprayed painted the rocks.
That is dumb , can't see the ghost town ! They should open those up !
My thoughts exactly, Glenn!
@@SightseeingSally lots of Abandoned ghost town all over & forgotten history of our past !
Gleeson give tours first Saturday of the month. Go to the jail and talk to Joe Bono. That jail you are in is the same on Gleeson only restored.
Hey Sally How are you?
What's up?
There’s nothing wrong with the turbo your husband just wanted to sit in that ac 😂😂😂
Diamonds are forever.
Sounds like a jewelry store ad
The old jail
It's not a jail it was an old gas station
Do map research. The map will tell you public from private property.
Should have a Toyota to travel in the desert.
