- This is from my play through of Dragon Age 2 as a female warrior who had a friendship romance with Fenris. It is all the bits of cut scene dialogue between the two of them in the game, strung together like a movie. Enjoy!

SCdreamdrawer people like you make me love the DA games even more, knowing I am not the only one coming back. Reliving the experience, sobbing, falling for these individuals every time. Its good to know other people still care about the 'old boys' as well. Solas broke my heart far more than I would like to admit. Fenris was a more troubled spirit it seemed, until he ultimately decided to stay with Hawke. Throwing overboard his negative feelings about mages, opening himself after living such a miserable life without love. It was the greatest hurdle, and he took it, only for her. In the end Solas chose to leave Lavellan heartbroken. His soft nature made his decision unbearable, I could not understand how he did not want her on his side. Not wanting her to share his burden, and be with him.
I hope our hearts get the closure we need, and deserve, whatever it may be, dear friends.

I would be perfectly happy if he kept talking, too. In fact, I went looking for audio books Gideon Emery narrated just to listen more. Spoiler: He's a really good narrator.

I wish he'd talk a little less about slavery and hating mages but god is he sexy. The second I heard his voice I knew I wanted my Hawke to be with him.
I love when he pushes Hawke against the wall and then you push him back. I could watch that scene over and over again.
I also love Isabela, she's my second favorite romance option in this game. Merrill I love how adorable she is but she reminds me too much of myself to choose her. My husband always goes for Merrill. Anders I prefer to romance with male Hawke because he seems a little more interested in men than women in my opinion. Rival romance with Anders is much more fun than friendship romance.
He should talk more often. About nicer things than his miserable past and his hatred of mages XD

I can hear it in her voice. Most likely because I've played too much Dragon Age: Inquisition and her voice is now ingrained in my brain.
..You do know Cassandra is in Da: 2 right? that means Cassandra's voice actor has to do extra work.

Something strangely attractive about someone who can crush someone else's heart while it's still in their chest. And be perfectly justified in doing so.
7:28 The way Fenris laughs when you flirt with him is simultaneously adorable and heartbreaking. On the one hand it's cute how he gets embarrassed and giggles like a schoolgirl when somebody he finds attractive flirts with him. On the other hand, it's heartbreaking because I can't help but think part of that nervous chuckle is Fenris not knowing how to respond to genuine, overt affection, being so love-deprived for so long, and possibly also being slightly suspicious of and afraid of you (especially if Hawke is a mage).

Tried all the various romance, but the one with Fenris is the best ( personal taste).
His whole story is the best. So dramatic. All his quests trumped all the other companion quests. Especially Anders'....so goddamn boring fighting templars and scooping poop....

As extreme as his beliefs on mages may be, I always romance him as a Mage. I noticed it makes him think about the things he says, like when he was ranting about how magic spoils everything. The little eyebrow raise from your Champion and his hesitation is perfect. Also, the Templars should at least watch over mages. Not enslave them, just watch them.
Mages are not enslaved. No one is forcing them to work without pay. If you ask me, they have the better end since they get food and shelter while most of the common people in Thedas don't live very well.
Hurlock alpha I didn't say they were enslaved, I just think that Templars need to simply watch them and not go crazy with power (Example A.Meredith). I used slavery as an example since in Kirkwall mages were made tranquil then forced to work. That is the extreme that simply came to mind, sorry that wasn't clear.
@Regal_Fish: This isn't his "beliefs", this is his fear. He's perfectly happy also with mage this is clear. And mages are slaves, or at least prisoners, and the Templars aren't protectors, rather prison guards, without any supervision.
@Hurlock alpha: Yes, the mages lives better than many people... just as the some slaves in Tevinter. Just ask Dorian about it... extreme parallel? Oh, yes, I know. But think about it: some people want to be slave, because they are starving, but this makes the slavery acceptable? Clearly NOT! And think about it: the templars just watch the mages? No, this isn't right, but if they "just watch" them, this still terrible. The mages don't have privacy, they don't have life. Just as the slaves. Who want to live as prisoner, innocently jailed?
Think about it: what would Fenris do if mage Hawke would be arrested by Templars. and Meredith already sent the request for the Right of Annulment. I'm sure that, Fenris would be happy to lose Hawke...
+Sergius Lucius A Templar's job is to watch over mages and make sure they don't do anything in the chantry there is a Templar looking at your character or morrigan and then he says she will have to get used to it the fact that she is a mage gives him the right to see if she might try anything but morrigan has never been to the circle strangely.
@The Red Dragon 156: I do not blame the Templars. Wretched puppets of the Chantry, because of lyrium addiction. Shame. They are victims too. The difference, that some of them would be able to choose his fate, but not the mages. Many of the Templars become crazy due the addiction and their experiences in the Circle - depend on the Circles (for example Samson and the templar in the door of the Denerim's Chantry - DAO). The Circles may different a bit, but still dangerous for everyone, and their existence in this form is inherently unjust.

I'm so happy, I managed to romance Fenris while in rivalry - it is SO hard though, lol. I don't think I can ever romance another character, he just breaks my heart with his puppy eyes...

I love his voice. There are a handful of other games I play that Fenris's voice actor is in and every time I hear his voice I melt.
I have a feeling if you keep the Hawke/Fenris relationship alive you'll probably find them in Tevinter in DA4.

I love Fenris romance/rivalmance. Bioware did an amazing job with creating a Sasuke Elf that actually grows on you.
Bioware's always successful in choosing voice talents. Garrus and Fenris melt my heart every time they talk :D

also his voice is in Skyrim as Imperial Guard in Solitude.
The voice actor's name is Gideon Emery. He's voiced quite a lot of people. Including a few people from Mass Effect, I believe. He also reads audio books (I have a few of those). And yes, he voiced Samson in Inquisition and in DA2. He also voiced several of the Imperial guardsmen in Skyrim. :) His voice is very distinct.
I believe his hair wasn't white... it turned white when he got the markings... usually the eyebrows have the same color as the hair... so his hair was actually black... or that is my theory c:...

Fenris is such a BAMF. I regret ignoring him during my first playthrough. His brooding is a little excessive sometimes but he hits like a tank. Also he choreographs dances in his spare time. How cool is that?

Knowing that Fenris has a bad experience with Mages... Will Fenris hate his child? Abandon the child? Or give it up to the Chantry? What do you think guys?
No, even if his views on Mages don't shift in the slightest, in the name of the memory of the woman he loved, it wouldn't for a second cross his mind to give up their child. Fenris already believes he owes Hawke the world, and considering he has no one else left in that world. With those factors I'd absolutely doubt he'd just HAND THE CHILD OVER much less hate them and abuse them like others had abused him. Fenris would consider it an insult to Hawke's memory to mistreat there child, of course Fenris is not perfect parent material however I'd like to think he'd do his best. Yet the only means I see him giving up there child-perhaps Fenris would start to not trust himself around them. Thus it'd push him to do the most soul-crushing thing any real parent may have to do, give up there baby knowing they'd be better off with somebody else, with a safer, healthier, and happier family. Geez I can barely fathom this heart breaking scenario...

I have been very very curious about the game but did not know who to ask or was unsure of the choosing of genders in the game for I always thought u could only play as male I now know I was wrong I am glade I was. Ive been dying for more adventures and now I have two I wish to start. once again I thank you. ^_^
emelie simone Dragon Age always gives you the option to play as male or female, and in the other two games, you can play as different races. Playing male or female Hawke doesn’t change much in the way of how you play DA 2, even with romances. The other two games do have gender-specific romance companions, though.

@epicdolls I never get the "Don't go." option. I'm friends with him, pick the romance options and the "don't go" doesn't pop up in the scene where he comes to my house. Wwwwhhhyy??

31:44 okay I thought I was the only one who had this romance when activated his power I had a mage so I'm glad to see I wasn't the only with option because I saw other people play through had when he was drunk and then he came over Hawke's mansion ty for the post
How do you even romance him as a mage-supporter? I just got the game a few days ago (already completed) but I never managed to raise his friendship to even the halfway point (and it never got down to rivalry so it was just kind of stuck and i never got any special scenes with him because of it). I romanced someone else so it didn't matter too much, but I'd like to romance him but I DO NOT want to support the templars.
During the companion talking quests if you just hear out Fenris (going through all the dialogue possible) and just kinda bullshitting about mages being the bad guys when he's around, its actually pretty easy to have a friendship with him. Also flirt with him every opportunity that you get. When it comes time to decide, if you romanced him (friendship or rival) he will go with you to help the mages. If you didn't romance him, you would need a high enough friendship for him to come with you.
You can have a rivalry romance, that's what I did. In that case, the more you disagree the better actually - you just need full rivalry instead of full friendship and will still get a romance. And a REALLY hot one, too - better than friendship, in my opinion! You just have to accept that he will be angry at you all the time, lol.
Just don't bring him along when you do mage vs. templar type quests and always say anti-slaver things. I was a mage Hawke romancing Anders one playthrough and I got full friendship with both Anders and Fenris solely because I left Fenris behind most of the time.
When I first played Dragon Age 2 and when I finally got to meet Fenris I instantly fell in love with him.

Don't you love how Fenris is all about the "invading personal space" style of courting? It gets particularly obvious towards the end. And if you want to see those puppy dog eyes Merrill saw him making, just take a closer look at when he's asking you to come meet his sister with him.
