Great video! Very interesting. Didn't expect such great quality with so low views.
Well, thanks, my friend! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Great video and card of 1986 Topps Football Jerry Rice. Thank you for the 9 facts about this card. Some of it I knew about and some I didn't. I didn't know about the letter on the back of the card. Have a great Wednesday to you Mr. David Gonos and Peace to you.
Thanks, Robert! I thought that letter thing was weird, too!
These were great David! Lots of info on the 86 Rice I didn't know. I pulled my first and only 86 Rice from a pack rip in December. I was able to get the pack for $65 and generally I find them easier to get than the 81s but there are a lot of variables. Like you the 86s are by far my favorite football set design. Ironically I also have the best luck ripping them!
HOLY SMOKES, YOU PULLED A RICE! That’s awesome. Well done! Shoot us a link to that video if you can!
Loved this video! Rice was my favorite player! Love me some Rice info!!! Great set!!!
Oh good! Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend!
Really Great Video David! I Had Totally Forgotten About Those McDonald's Scratch Off Cards. If I Recall Correctly, I'm Pretty Sure I Had The Entire Set Of Those.
Nice! That’s awesome. I have a bunch of those cards, too! But I ripped the coupons off most of them tho - free McDonald’s!!!! Haha here’s the YT Short video: ua-cam.com/users/shortsg9XfGviRs28?si=CeIgVPizb5kSld6b
Great video, thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Great video and information.
Love this series, awesome video. Interesting facts! Even though this is my favorite football set, and thus one of my favorite cards, I did not know there were 2 variations! That’s really cool, I’ll have to check mine, and see if I lucked into both.
Also, although I was definitely opening my first packs in ‘86, I wasn’t really plugged into pro sports at the time, and I had no idea my Cowboys were interested in him, wow!
When we got back in the hobby for the first few years, ‘86 boxes were around 400 from BBCE, so my brother and I have split a few boxes in the past. I hate that that will probably never happen again, but I guess I’m lucky it happened at all!
Thanks very much, David!
Man, opening a box of ‘86 Topps!?!? That’s pretty awesome! Holy smokes. It’s cool that set brings you two memories from different points in time! Thanks, Scott - let me know if you have a “C” and “D” Rice!
I never thought about that, but that is true, two time periods of great memories from this set!
So I had images of the 2 graded Rice’s I own, and I didn’t have to look any farther! Sure enough, a “C” and a “D,” each represented. Really cool, thanks for bringing it to my attention!
@@Scott__H Boom! That’s awesome! If you ever sell, you won’t know which to sell first, haha
Great "Did you know" video? I knew the Henderson 10s were scarce but when you break down the numbers it's pretty insane. The Topps Rice is such an iconic card for many reasons. Thanks for bringing the knowledge David! I wonder if Rice's draft position also had to do with where he played college, especially during that time period. I don't ever remember him diving for a ball, he was a superb route runner.
That’s a great point about his college affecting his draft position. Eddie Brown was a Miami guy catching big passes from guys like Bernie Kosar and Vinny Testaverde I think. The draft wasn’t as kind to smaller college players, that’s for sure.
Awesome as always 🎉
awesome stuff Dave
Thanks, Ed!
That is a valid point and that was what I was thinking about the price of the 86 topps football. Your best chance of getting a great grade able card is to get a fresh pack
Yeah, for sure. Might be uncentered, but corners and edges should be decent at least. But man, I bet the Rice is tough to hit!
Happy hobby, go niners, Rice the man
I think you're spot on that the 85 packs are priced almost exclusively on the potential condition of those black border betties dormant within.
Thanks! Yeah black borders - pretty and pretty annoying, all at once! Haha
I feel like SGC would get submissions from people who basically knew PSA would not give a 10, so they sent to SGC hoping to better their chances of a 10 slab. Just what I would figure, could be totally wrong, but that would explain to me how SGC has such a low 10 pop
Good point. Also, I wonder how many of these cards of all grades are populating the reports twice or three times cuz people cracked and resubbed!
Subscribed!!! Great video
Awesome! Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Fin fact. All diehard fans knows Jerry's middle name. We also know ...
His first name is Jerome
He was born in Crawford Mississippi
He developed his hands from catching bricks with his father
Didn't have desire to play football, but after he got seen skipping class and his Principal made him play or get suspended after seeing him flee very fast
Birthday October
Etc.....😅
I am just needing out... awesome facts sir.
Haha those are some good facts, too, my friend! The NFL’s documentary on Jerry Rice is so good!
@@DavidGonos It really is sir, it really is
