The size and length of the wire used depends on the size of the stone.
With the average stone size, about 1.5 - 2cm in diameter, Can use wire with diameter 0.7 - 1mm (21 gauge - 18 gauge ) length used 10 - 20cm ( 4 - 8 inch)
* In the video I use :
28 gauge ( wire diameter 0.3mm ) : 2 strands, each 15cm ( 6 inch) long
20 gauge ( wire diameter 0.8mm ) : 2 strands, each 15cm ( 6 inch) long
Round cabochon has a diameter of 1.8cm
* Outer diameter of the circle = diameter of the stone.
Fixed 3 positions on the circle, helping the stone stay in place, not falling.
Mark the distances for precise manipulation
Use tape to fix the wire and stone, making it easier to do
The manipulation of wire wrap to fix the stone is very difficult to track, you can do it any way you want, as long as the wire is fixed, do not fall stones.
You can use it as pendant, brooch, earring, key hanger or decorate.

Hi. I am hoping to make this with a stone that has a larger diameter (2.5cms). How did you calculate the lengths between each bend for the rings round the planet?
Normally I calculate the wire according to stone or circumference : the standard wire length x the ratio of stone or circumference. For example, if the stone is twice as big, we use a wire of double length ( compared to the wire needed with small stones) . However it depends on the sample there are different changes.
