📄 Tekken 6 is a fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Games. It is the sixth main and seventh installment in the Tekken franchise. It was released in arcades on November 26, 2007, as the first game running on the PlayStation 3-based System 357 arcade board.

This is probably one of the most impressive ports on the PSP, they simply ported a PS3 game to the PSP (a portable console inferior in hardware to the PS2) keeping exactly the same gameplay, characters and settings, it's impressive.
I think the only one that comes close to something like this is Street Fighter IV for the 3DS but even that has had its cuts.
Take Tekken 6 PSP version and run it through PPSSPP Emulator for the PC with 1080p 60fps enhancements and it will look equal to the PS3 version. But wait, theres more take Tekken 6 Xbox 360 and run it on the Xbox Series X via Backwards Compatibility and it looks and plays better than all the versions.

I think SF IV actually looks pretty ugly on 3DS, its super muddy and can only run at 60 if you disable 3D altogether.
While not a direct port of anything I think Dead or Alive Dimensions (based on 4 for 360) looks a lot more impressive, and it runs at 60 though it will halve once you turn up the 3D slider.

Well the difference from the PSP is the graphics are similar to Tekken 5 graphics and the gameplay is good so I have no complaints here

Video is great but when you compare graphics it's better to use same stages too to compare. Because different stage different effects. It's better to see the differences. Better contrast between the versions.
I remember spending hours on the PSP just playing Tekken 6, tbh it wasn't years later when I found out that the PS3 also had Tekken 6
The PSP version also reduced the customization variety quite a lot.
Still better than Tekken 7 and Tekken 8

Cant buy a decent pc or console :'( thats why they cant play play tekken 7 and 8, thats why they like the psp version more so sad.
I miss handheld Tekken. Very effective for practicing.
Always said if Tag 2 got a Vita port I'd have bought a Vita for it.

i have tekken 1-5 on ps1/ps2, 6 on psp and 7 on pc
not to mention every other fighting game, i've got a 1TB card dedicated to fighting games and i basically have everything on there...... full series MK, SF, tekken, KoF, marvel vs capcom, guilty gear, samurai shodown, and a whole bunch of older series (art of fighting, fatal fury, soul calibur, darkstalkers, capcom vs snk, snk vs capcom, darkstalkers, etc)
@@andyj91 I can't subject my GPD Win 4 to Tekken, even if it could play it well enough. I'm way too rough on the controls.
@@SolidSonicTH don't know about the GPD, i'm confortable with SD's controls and the d-pad is pretty good for fighting games
There's however Tekken 6 on PS Vita which is the PSP digitally remastered version. It's a shame that both Tekken 6 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 didn't have individual releases on the Vita.
I always had the PSP version long time ago had an emulator today and I still want the PS3 or Xbox360 version just because it's has the canon storyline
As someone who played T6 religiously when younger, Xbox 360 version was undoubtedly the best version. which blew my mind back then as to why so many people played on PS3 dealing with slower load times and input delay (Not that Xbox didn't have it too but it was a lot less). It made sense legacy wise but yeah. I hated the PS3 version. Which makes things funnier in my mind considering the next game Tekken Tag 2 ran better on PS3 than Xbox 360.
My first exposure to T6 back then was through a cousin of mine who had it for his 360, and I absolutely despised the awful D-pad on the Xbox controller. That system and controller seemed more tailor made for first person shooters and racing games, which was all the rage back then especially with CoD. It was simply not designed for arcade fighter games. So it confused me to hear that Tekken was now multi platform when traditionally it was always a PlayStation exclusive, with legacy skill on the dual shock controller.
I then got T6 for PS3 and had a much easier time playing it on the Dual shock 3. It may have looked better and ran smoother on 360, but I would happily trade that for a better controller so my damn inputs weren’t constantly screwed and Sabotaged by an awful D-pad and getting wrecked online because my character couldn’t perform correctly.
My most frustrating and toxic memories of playing T6 online was on the 360 because of this, and it kind of tainted my view of the then new title. I enjoyed it on PS3 as best I could given that was my system of choice, and the load times and online lag, but still, the 360 experience did its damage for me. Online T6 on PS3 had its own variety of frustrations, but the controller made all the difference in the world.
Apparently there was a 360 controller with a better D-Pad, but I personally never found it and my cousin wasn’t interested in continuing to play T6 by that point. So I just stuck to PS3.
Tournaments before used the 360 because the PS3 has a lot of input lag issues which makes the stakes higher for PS3 to do a heckton of revisions ,🤣
But it was quite a surprise that the console wars in that generation kinda end up in a stalemate.
I still think Xbox won this race...

PSP is just a very low-res port of the PS3 port. Strip down the textures to minimal. It might not look great but they still managed to get it to work at 60fps

I remember spending entire nights, just to reach the highest rank with king on PSP. Probably my favourite version on Tekken 6

I like xbox 360
I highly recommend the Sony PSP version of Tekken 6 because when you play online, the round announcer will not say "(Character's name) WINS!" just like in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tekken 6. While playing online on the PSP version of Tekken 6, the round announcer will say "YOU WIN!" and "YOU LOSE!" because it helps you figure out which character you are playing as since there are no character portraits next to the character's health bars. The Scenario Campaign mode in the PSP version has been removed because in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Tekken 6, the Scenario Campaign mode will force you to sign out of your PSN and XBL accounts, which gets really annoying. The Xbox 360 version of Tekken 6 sucks because you have to pay to play online for a month or a year and the PS3 version sucks because (Sure, you can play online for free on the PS3 version) the PS3 version's online server lags a lot. The PSP version's online server doesn't lag as much. I would also avoid the Nintendo 3DS version of Tekken 6 (AKA Tekken 3D: Prime Edition) because the 3DS version's online server constantly lags a lot online. My advice to you Nintendo fans out there is if you have Tekken 3D: Prime Edition (AKA Tekken 6) for your Nintendo 3DS's, don't play online. Play offline wireless multiplayer with a friend instead. The PSP version of Tekken 6 can also be played on the PS Vita. And by the way, the PS3 version of Tekken 6 is disc-only and it is not available for download in the PlayStation Store. The only version of Tekken 6 that is downloadable in the PlayStation Store is the PSP version.

Guys. Don't compare PlayStation 3 with PSP. The one version is on another level. But I'm very impressed with PSP not only for releasing Tekken 6 but many games witch didn't came out for PlayStation 2 .
@@Apost-ux8wm we’re only comparing the loading times, like I said check out the arcade version of Tekken 6 it has faster loading times than ps3 version. Even if Tekken 6 could run on ps2 it would lag so much and apparently the engine is advance than the predecessors.

As far as emulation goes. Tekken 6 for PS3 is 4 gigs larger than it is on 360, so since the 2 are so similar in graphics, it just makes sense to me to get the 360 version. I think that version looks better anyhow.

The xbox 360 character sounds different from ps3 and psp
So odd that the Xbox 360 is the better looking one at least from a technical standpoint the original Arcade hardware was based on the PS3 hardware, it should have been an almost perfect port. Regardless of that I prefer the PS3 version since the blur makes it look a bit less jagged, and also the cinematics are at a much much higher bitrate taking adventage of the blu ray space.
I use ppsspp for tekken 6 and u gotta say I'm loving this game (Steve is my main)

I don't know what they did to the psp image but I've got it right infront of me and it looks a lot less jagged and jittery in reality.
It's because the game is scaled up to 16:9, when you play it on the original 480 by 272 low res screen it will look better

So the game just released on ps5.........and for some reason the version is the psp version instead of the ps3....
That reason is because literally no ps3 game is re-releasing. it has only been ps1 and psp since June last year
