Second iteration on a drop in replacement for the Mark III drive based on Rev Robotics Neo motor with a max planetary gearbox system running a 20:1 gear reduction.
I *adore* heat set inserts and use them in all my own models. I've often thought that the R2 design could greatly benefit from using them too. I'm really interested to see how they hold up in your testing considering the jostling and ambient heat from the motor.
I think they will be fine as they are quite aways from the heat of the motor and with six screws bearing the load, I believe will be fine. I'll be doing a full test with these drives installed soon.
