Mamidikaya Pappu is a great favorite in our house, and we enjoy chundu/chundo for an occasional sweet pickle. I do not love sweet pickle, but this one is just spicy enough and works well with methi tepla for a Gujarati double.

Anna we make a curry with raw mango, coconut gratings, udad dal, methi seeds, haldi, small piece of jaggery. We don't peel the raw mango.just cut it in medium cubes. Add water n little haldi n boil or steam in cooker . Grind fresh coconut gratings along with 1 TSP fried udad dal n methi, jaggery and red chillies to smooth paste.add to boiled mango pieces n water . Bring to boil. Season with mustard n curry leaves.we call it kairi ghashi

Amma try this too Ambya sasam Take ripe small local mangoes. Wash n peel. Don't discard peels. Slightly squeeze mango n remove pulp. Not all. Add little water to peels n squeeze out juice. In a pan add 1/2 cup water. Add mangoes n pulp. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Meanwhile take 1 cup fresh coconut gratings, 2-3 red chillies, little haldi, little salt and 1/2 TSP raw mustard, few seeds of methi little water and grind to smooth paste. Add to boiling mangoes. Stir. Boil for few minutes season with mustard and curry leaves. Eat with roti or puri
