- Welcome to CMD and to this once in a generation Porsche 718 Cayman GT4RS.
This particular example is blessed with a large majority of the options you could only wish for and was leant to me for the day by friend to the channel and all round gent Paul S.
So... not much more to do other than take it for a drive - BRACE YOURSELF - This car should come with a health warning - heavily addictive and insanely loud...

The 982 GT4 RS and 991.2 GT3 RS are peak Porsche, they have a blend of sound, fury and useability that is hard to match and is missing and less evident in the 992 series. What many don't understand is how rigid the chassis is - the 981 Cayman was 40,000 Nm/deg the 982(718) is 41,000 in contrast the Ferrari 458 is ~ 33,120 the 992 chassis is ~ 39,000 and Aventador ~ 35,000. This means the Cayman can rely on a simple strut suspension which is great for foot print, packaging and weight as it doesn't have to overly compensate for chassis torsion. The 981/982 naturally aspirated Caymans will go down as all time greats - super car looks in a sports car footprint.

How do you drive this car on a street with speed limits? Just downshift constantly for no reason? Keep it in first gear all the time? I would just want to hear the engine scream but it takes about one second to reach crazy speeds.

Yes totally agree these cars like most recent fast cars are no fun and pointless on normal roads.Better to have a smaller engine so you can actually work it.

the values are dropping like rocks though. And for £130k you can now get yourself a ferrari 488 or 458 lol why would you pay £160k + for one of these

What you mean is values are dropping towards their list price. The overs game for now is over but this car is worth every penny of its list value.

Thx! I needed that reminder of what I’ve got put away for winter. It’s funny when it’s not right at your fingertips being used, you start thinking of selling and what the next step is. Nothing comes close to the GT4RS.
