    Hi Paul. Watching this with Cathie on a wee break in Fort William. Had an expensive coffee and wine in the Kingshouse on the way up😅 before staying a couple of nights in the Clachaig before eventually arriving in Ft. W.
    Great video again. I have a family connection with Kinlochbervie. My mum spent all her childhood holidays there as some of my mother's family moved there from Orkney. I can see the two side by side houses my mum's uncles/aunts owned in your video of the village. We took her back there shortly before she died. A fantastic area.

    • @PAADVENTURES1
      @PAADVENTURES1  2 роки тому

      John
      Humour me…is it the two side by side houses right in the center of the frame at around 1.00? If it is that’s where we stayed! Abis mums friends own those houses and lived there as children? Could there be a connection. Abis friend is Sarah Barr?

    • @johnscot1
      @johnscot1 2 роки тому +1

      @@PAADVENTURES1 Paul, yes that's the houses I meant. It's about 15 years since we were there but I'm convinced these were the houses my mum said were in her family. My mum was born in 1923 so her childhood holidays there would have been in the late 20s and early 30s. My understanding was they belonged to her maternal uncle/aunts and they had come from Orkney. My grandmother's maiden name was Clouston, a very Orkney, Viking based name.
      I have no idea when my family connection to them may have ceased.
      I remember taking my Mum to a graveyard overlooking Oldshoremore beach to find her relatives.

    Another great video Paul, love your down to earth style. Shame about the summit shot but at least you got there. The day you did this i bagged my first Munro the relatively "easy" Ben Lommond and the summit had at best 3 meters viability and 45 mph winds, but thanks to the inspiration you and a few others give me many more Munroes to follow, hopefully another 281🏔⛰🗻

      Brilliant Chris! And you should know there is no easy Munros! So that’s 😀😀😀absolutely amazing and well done! I was just looking at when I started logging my walks with the intention of visiting All the Munros and it’s almost exactly 3 years ago now! Believe it or not we started on a wet and claggy Ben lomond! Perfect starting point for your journey!!! In 3 years I have managed to visit 145 now! So that’s you in 3 years! I set myself a wee goal and just went for it. Difficult initially but the fitness and confidence grows quickly. My one piece of advice for you is to log, photograph, video as much as you can to look back on! Thanks very much for your comments and I’m humbled knowing I had a wee bit to do with the inspiration! You will absolutely love the journey! All the best. Paul

    Great video. Definitely F15s, probably from Lakenheath in Suffolk. Makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Would they be doing exercises in this area a lot? Would they come all the way up from Lakenheath? I just realised watching the footage again that there was six of them! Great video Paul, which I'm only watching now. A lot of folks seem to suggest F15s but I wonder if it wasn't Typhoons instead? They make a lot of "racket" when they pass over. Modern fighter jets seem to be a lot noisier that earlier ones especially twin engine ones like Typhoons. One exception is the new F35 which seems to make a lot of noise with just one engine 😉
    Anyway it looked like a great hill apart from all your troubles. I'm struggling to get video from the summits and often I just take a photo of my dog at the summit instead 🙃

    Great stuff Paul! Just as well you never had the drone up or you might have been able to identify a plane first hand...then got strafed by the others. F15s? the s is for sh**myself. Had an encounter with one coming down Loch Sloy...dropped to my knees instant reaction before I realised what it was, as for my Border she goes into a constant shake just with car back fires or fireworks. - Brilliant video. ✈️✈️✈️

    • @PAADVENTURES1
      @PAADVENTURES1  2 роки тому +1

      I was thinking about the drone Dave. Had it not been so windy I might just have flown it there? Was wondering if it's a restricted area? So F15S..... I just rewatched and there was in fact 6 of them! Wee paddy was pretty scared but recovered quick and ran after a ptarmigan! Cheers Dave! Paul

    • @ALochOnTheWildSide
      @ALochOnTheWildSide 2 роки тому +1

      Best case scenario for a hit is your drone gets smashed to bits...worst case you don't want to think about. I think these pilots have pretty much free reign where they fly (fook they were flying over Glasgow in January at 300m and 500mph) though probably a ton of protocols about commercial flight paths, pre arranged zones and a lot of other stuff we would never get to know about not to mention their high tech radar for other planes. I use "drone assist" app to check an area before I even leave house gives you some sort of idea what's about. (You probably know all this) got the Operator ID (£10) a year and flyer ID (free) OP ID is required for under 250G drones if they have a camera and are not toys - just to make me look like I know what I am doing with it! 🤣🤣🤣 Also ordered an orange skin after seeing Tams drone done out in yellow for a bit more visibility.
