I figured out how to beat Dodongo. See, there's this hint that an old man in the same dungeon gives you. "Dodongo dislikes smoke". This means that to beat Dodongo, you have to use your NES cartridge slot as an ash tray for your cigarette. In doing so, Dodongo will walk away, complaining about second hand smoke.
I did this and found another secret! The “Of” in the title “The Legend OF Zelda” refers to a strange item actually bundled with your NES shaped like a square, except it has a second f. Pressing it will unleash Ganon’s evil magic and cloak your screen in darkness! Be careful though, as you can only use it once per playthrough.

This reminds me of an old (10+ years) tumblr blog that spoofed DYKG. I forgot what it was called but it was a longass name like WOW! UNKNOWN FACTS ABOUT GAMING. It made posts like "Did you know? Tom Nook wears an apron to cover his giant balls" and "The Koopalings represent the seven deadly sins." It was actually a bit of a trend to make DYKG parodies on tumblr because that's where DYKG started, I think. Before moving onto videos collecting their factoids they just made tumblr image posts. And when Hyrule Historia came out, we all used to joke about how they'd steal all its factoids and make posts about them... and that was exactly what happened. Anyway thanks for coming to my TED Talk and I love that they are still parodied up to this day. This vid is funny af and I'll probably end up watching it more than once.
